Telugu calendar with panchangam, month by month
This free Telugu calendar shows any month from 1900 to 2099 as a grid of Gregorian dates, each day carrying its tithi and nakshatra at sunrise, the Telugu month (Chaitram to Phalgunam, also in Telugu script) and a dot on festival days. Pick a day to read its panchangam: tithi and nakshatra with their end times, yoga, karana, sunrise, sunset, Rahu kalam, Yamagandam and Gulika kalam.
Use it as a Telugu calendar 2026, 2025 or 2027 for Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam or anywhere else, including the USA: choose a city or press Use my location, and every time and date is worked out for that place and its time zone. The year’s Telugu festivals — Bhogi, Sankranti, Ugadi, Sri Rama Navami, Varalakshmi Vratam, Vinayaka Chavithi, Bathukamma, Dasara, Atla Taddi, Deepavali, Nagula Chavithi and Karthika Pournami — are listed with the rule used for each and can be downloaded as a CSV file.

How the Telugu calendar works
The Telugu calendar is lunisolar and amanta: a month runs from one new moon (amavasya) to the next and is named after the sign the Sun is in when it begins — Chaitram starts with the Sun in Meena, Vaishakham with the Sun in Mesha, and so on. About once in three years no sankranti falls inside a lunar month; that month is adhika and repeats the next name, as with Adhika Jyeshtham from 17 May to 14 June 2026. Each month has a bright half (Shukla paksha) ending with Pournami and a dark half (Bahula paksha) ending with Amavasya.
The day runs from sunrise to sunrise, so a date takes the tithi and nakshatra current at local sunrise. The year starts with Ugadi, Chaitra Shukla Pratipada: 19 March 2026 began Shaka 1948, the Parabhava samvatsara, and 7 April 2027 begins Plavanga. Positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa, the same engine as the Hindu calendar converter and panchang today.
| Telugu month | Script | 2026 first day |
|---|---|---|
| Chaitram | చైత్రం | 19 March |
| Adhika Jyeshtham | అధిక జ్యేష్ఠం | 17 May |
| Shravanam | శ్రావణం | 13 August |
| Ashvayujam | ఆశ్వయుజం | 11 October |
| Kartikam | కార్తీకం | 10 November |
Festival dates, sources and limits
Lunar festivals use the shared rules of this site’s festival calendar: the amanta month, the tithi and the time of day at which it must prevail — sunrise for Ugadi, midday for Sri Rama Navami and Vinayaka Chavithi, sunset for Deepavali. Sankranti follows the Sun’s entry into Makara (the next day when that happens after midday), with Bhogi the day before and Kanuma the day after. Varalakshmi Vratam is the Friday before Shravana Pournami. For 2025 to 2027 the dates agree with Drik Panchang’s Telugu calendars and with the Telangana government’s 2026 holiday list (checked 24–25 October 2026), apart from the cases listed under “Where almanacs differ”.
Temples and printed panchangams sometimes choose another day when a tithi touches two sunrises or none, and older Siddhantic almanacs use different formulas, so follow your family priest for vratams and muhurtham. Times can differ by a minute or two from other sources. For the dark-half fasting days see Ekadashi dates; for the solar Tamil calendar see the Tamil calendar.
Telugu Calendar FAQ
When is Ugadi 2026?
Thursday 19 March 2026, the start of Shaka 1948 and the Parabhava samvatsara. Ugadi 2027 falls on Wednesday 7 April.
Which Telugu month is it now?
Press Today: the large text shows the Telugu month, paksha and tithi for today at your chosen place.
Can I use it as a Telugu calendar 2026 for the USA?
Yes. Pick a US city or use your location; sunrise, tithi end times and festival days follow the local time zone, so they can differ by a day from Indian dates.
Why is 2026 longer by a month?
It has an adhika (extra) Jyeshtham, which pushes later festivals such as Vinayaka Chavithi and Deepavali about three weeks later than in 2025.
What is Rahu kalam?
One-eighth of the daytime, fixed by weekday, traditionally avoided for new work. It is shown for tradition, not as advice.
Why does my printed calendar show another date?
Almanacs differ when a tithi spans two sunrises or by their method; the list under “Where almanacs differ” explains the known cases.
