Seed, fertilizer, water, livestock and farm money, worked out from official sources
These free farm calculators do the arithmetic farmers, students and extension workers need every season, using figures from ICAR, FAO, state agricultural universities and government schemes, with the source and date on each page. For the field, the seed rate calculator gives kg per hectare or acre from spacing, test weight and germination, the plant spacing calculator counts plants per acre, and the fertilizer calculator turns a recommended N-P-K dose into bags of urea, DAP, SSP and MOP. The NPK calculator works out the grade of a mix, and the sprayer calibration calculator sets litres per hectare and product per tank.
For water, the irrigation water requirement calculator uses FAO-56 crop coefficients to give litres and pump hours, and the drip irrigation calculator sizes drippers, laterals and run time. The growing degree days calculator tracks crop stages, the crop calendar shows sowing and harvest months for major Indian crops, and the crop yield calculator estimates the harvest from a crop-cutting plot.
For livestock, there is the cattle feed calculator, the cattle weight calculator from a girth tape, the cow gestation calculator for calving dates, the milk fat and SNF calculator, the poultry feed and FCR calculator and the hay calculator. For farm money, the MSP chart lists the official minimum support prices, the Kisan Credit Card loan calculator works out the KCC limit and interest, and the crop insurance calculator shows the PMFBY premium.
How the numbers are sourced
- Official figures, dated. MSPs come from the Government of India's announcements, PMFBY rates from the scheme's operational guidelines, and KCC rules from the RBI. Each page says which year it shows.
- Local advice first. Seed rates, doses and calendars vary by variety, soil and region. Check the recommendation of your Krishi Vigyan Kendra, state agricultural university or soil health card, and enter it in the calculator.
Related tools elsewhere on the site
- Land and units. The area converter converts acres, hectares and bigha, and the solar panel calculator sizes a solar power system for a home or farm building.
- Animals. Dog and cat tools, such as the dog pregnancy calculator, are in the pets sector.
Agriculture & Farming: frequently asked questions
Are these farm calculators free?
Yes. They are free, need no account and run in your browser, so your farm details stay on your device. They also work on a phone.
How do I convert an N-P-K recommendation into fertilizer bags?
Start with phosphorus from DAP or SSP, subtract the nitrogen DAP already supplies, make up the rest of the nitrogen with urea, and give potash as MOP. The fertilizer calculator does this from your dose and field size and counts 45 kg urea bags and 50 kg bags of the others.
What is the current MSP for wheat?
The MSP for wheat for rabi marketing season 2027-28 is ₹2,610 per quintal, as approved by the Union Cabinet on 30 September 2026. The MSP chart lists all 20 crops and shows the rise over the previous year.
How is the Kisan Credit Card limit calculated?
The first-year limit is the scale of finance for the crop times the area, plus 10% for post-harvest and household needs, plus 20% for farm repairs, plus crop insurance. The limit then rises by 10% a year over the card’s term. The KCC calculator follows the RBI rules for existing cards and the 2026 Directions for new loans.
Are the results a recommendation?
No. They are calculations from published standards and the numbers you enter. Your local agriculture officer, vet or bank has the final word.
