Tithis from the Moon–Sun elongation (Meeus algorithms), Lahiri ayanamsa for months and Sankranti, sunrise for the Sun’s upper limb with refraction. Fasting days follow the rules Drik Panchang publishes (Smarta list, with the Vaishnava day when it differs); begin and end times agree with it within about two minutes. Sankranti moments use the VSOP87 Sun and come out about six minutes earlier than Drik Panchang’s, whose Lahiri value is about 16″ larger; the dates agree. ISKCON calendars apply further Mahadvadashi rules and can differ on a few dates. The sample shown before the page loads is New Delhi, 2026.

These dates follow the traditional Hindu lunar calendar. This page is for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice; for a vrat or ceremony follow your family priest, temple or sampradaya, whose rules may differ. Fasting can be unsafe with some health conditions or in pregnancy — ask a doctor. Everything is computed in your browser.

Ekadashi dates 2026 and a tithi calendar for your city

This free Ekadashi dates 2026 calculator lists every Ekadashi of the year with its name — Papankusha, Devutthana, Mokshada and the rest, including Padmini and Parama in the 2026 adhika month — the tithi’s begin and end times, and the parana (fast-breaking) window the next morning. Next to them it gives Purnima, Amavasya, Pradosh, Sankashti Chaturthi and Sankranti, and a month tithi calendar that shows the tithi at each sunrise.

Hindu fasting days are fixed by sunrise, so they depend on where you live: an Ekadashi can fall a day earlier in New York than in New Delhi. Choose your city, or any year from 1900 to 2099, and the dates are worked out for that place. The automatic test compares the results with Drik Panchang’s published lists for New Delhi (2025–2027).

This page is for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice.

How to use the Ekadashi Dates & Tithi Calendar

  1. Enter the Year and choose your City (it starts from your time zone), or type the coordinates and time zone, or press Use my location.
  2. Pick Smarta or Vaishnava for the Ekadashi rule; when the two differ the other day is shown too.
  3. Untick what you do not need under Show.
  4. Use the month calendar for the tithi at sunrise of each day — tap a day for details — or read the full list below. The line at the top counts down to the next Ekadashi.
  5. Press Download CSV for a spreadsheet, or Add to calendar (.ics) to import the dates into Google, Apple or Outlook calendars.

Ekadashi Dates & Tithi Calendar features

Every Ekadashi with its name

Named by lunar month and paksha, with adhika-month names, tithi times and the Gauna day when one is listed.

Smarta and Vaishnava days

The Vaishnava rule avoids Dashami at arunodaya and moves the fast when Dwadashi spans two sunrises.

Parana time

After sunrise, after Hari Vasara and within Dwadashi, preferably in Pratahkal — the window Drik Panchang publishes.

Purnima, Amavasya, Pradosh, Sankashti, Sankranti

Each placed by its own rule: midday, Pradosh kaal after sunset, moonrise or the Sun’s sign change.

Tithi calendar

A month grid with the tithi at sunrise, kshaya tithis noted, and a day detail when you tap a date.

How Ekadashi and the other dates are calculated

A tithi is a 12° step of the Moon’s elongation from the Sun, so there are thirty in a lunar month; Ekadashi is the eleventh of each half. The day a tithi “belongs to” is the day at whose sunrise it is current (udaya tithi). Smarta Ekadashi is that day; if Ekadashi is current at two sunrises the second is used; if it begins and ends between two sunrises the fast is kept on the day it begins, with a Gauna (alternative) day after it.

The Vaishnava rule is stricter: if Dashami is still current at arunodaya, 96 minutes before sunrise, the fast moves to the next day, as it also does when the following Dwadashi spans two sunrises. Parana is the next morning after sunrise, after the first quarter of Dwadashi (Hari Vasara), preferably within the first fifth of the day and before Dwadashi ends.

Purnima vrat and Darsha Amavasya fall on the first day whose midday (the third fifth of daytime) has the tithi, so the Purnima fast can come a day before the sunrise Purnima. Pradosh is the day Trayodashi is current during Pradosh kaal, the first fifth of the night; Sankashti is the Krishna Chaturthi current at moonrise; Sankranti is the moment the sidereal Sun enters a new sign.

Ekadashi names by lunar month

Krishna-paksha names are given here by the amanta month that ends with that new moon; north Indian purnimanta calendars file the same fortnight under the next month, which is why a list may say “Krishna, Jyeshtha” for Apara Ekadashi.

Limits

Only tithi-based dates are given; festivals with extra regional rules (Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Diwali) are left to the daily panchang and your temple calendar. ISKCON calendars add Mahadvadashi rules that can move a few Vaishnava fasts. Near a sunrise boundary, one or two minutes of difference can shift a date. For the Gowri times of a day see Gowri panchangam. Focused lists of the same dates are on Amavasya and Purnima dates, Pradosh vrat, Sankashti Chaturthi and the monthly vrat calendar.

Ekadashi Dates & Tithi Calendar FAQ

When is the next Ekadashi?

It is shown at the top of the page for your city when the current year is selected, with the number of days to go.

Why are there two Ekadashi dates in some months?

When Ekadashi touches no sunrise or Dashami is current before dawn, Smarta and Vaishnava rules can pick different days. The list shows both, and a Gauna day where one is listed.

How many Ekadashis are there in 2026?

Twenty-four in the Smarta list for New Delhi; the year has an adhika Jyeshtha month, which adds Padmini and Parama Ekadashi.

Are the dates the same in the USA?

Not always. Sunrise and the time zone change the day a tithi is current, so choose your US city.

What is parana time?

The window to break the Ekadashi fast the next morning, after sunrise and Hari Vasara and before Dwadashi ends.

Do these dates predict anything?

No. They are calendar dates. This page is for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice.
