Pradosh vrat dates and timings for the year
This free page lists every Pradosh vrat (Pradosham) of a year from 1900 to 2099 — the twice-monthly fast for Lord Shiva on Trayodashi, the thirteenth day of each fortnight — with its weekday name and the Pradosh kaal window, the twilight hours after sunset when the puja is done. Pick your city and the dates and times follow its sunset and time zone, so it works as a Pradosh vrat 2026 USA calendar too.
A Pradosh falling on a Monday is Soma Pradosh, on a Tuesday Bhauma Pradosh and on a Saturday Shani Pradosh; all seven names are shown. Use the month calendar for the tithi at each sunrise, and export the list as CSV or an .ics calendar file.

How the Pradosh date is chosen
Pradosh kaal is the time just after sunset; here it runs from sunset for one fifth of the night, about two and a half hours. The vrat is kept on the evening when Trayodashi is current during Pradosh kaal. Trayodashi lasts about a day, so usually one evening qualifies; when it begins in the evening and ends the next evening, both evenings have some of it, and the published lists take the one with the larger share. On 9 February 2025, for example, Trayodashi began at 19:25 in New Delhi and covered 77 minutes of Pradosh kaal, against 51 minutes on the 10th, so Ravi Pradosh was on the 9th.
With that rule, every date for 2025, 2026 and 2027 matches Drik Panchang’s Pradosh lists for New Delhi, and the windows agree within a few minutes (checked 25 October 2026). The weekday name is the weekday of that evening. Because the rule looks at the evening, a Pradosh can fall on the day before the date on which Trayodashi is current at sunrise; the list shows the Trayodashi begin and end times so you can see why each evening was chosen.
| Weekday | Name | Example 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | Ravi Pradosh | 1 March |
| Monday | Soma Pradosh | 16 March |
| Tuesday | Bhauma Pradosh | 28 April |
| Thursday | Guru Pradosh | 8 October |
| Friday | Shukra Pradosh | 23 October |
| Saturday | Shani Pradosh | 14 February |
Practice and limits
In Tamil Nadu and Karnataka the same days are Pradosham, often observed in Shiva temples at the evening abhishekam; some traditions take Pradosh kaal as 1.5 hours either side of sunset, which can change the time window but rarely the date. Follow your temple or priest for the puja time.

Pradosh Vrat Dates FAQ
When is the next Pradosh vrat?
With the current year selected, the line at the top names it for your city and counts the days.
How many Pradosh vrats are there in 2026?
Twenty-five in New Delhi, against 24 in 2025; the extra (adhika) month of 2026 adds Trayodashis to the year.
What is Shani Pradosh?
A Pradosh vrat on a Saturday, considered especially meritorious; 14 February 2026 is one.
What time is Pradosh kaal today?
