Gujarati calendar with tithi for every day
This free Gujarati calendar with tithi shows any month from 1900 to 2099 as a grid of Gregorian dates. Each day carries its tithi at sunrise in the familiar Gujarati form — Sud or Vad and a number, Poonam and Amas — with the nakshatra, a dot on festival days and a bar where a Gujarati month begins. Tap a day for its panchang: tithi and nakshatra with end times, yoga, karana, sunrise, sunset, Rahu kalam, Yamagandam and Gulika kalam.
Use it as a Gujarati calendar 2026, 2025 or 2027 for Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai or any city in the list, your own location or typed coordinates — useful for families in the USA or UK too. The year’s festivals, from Uttarayan, Holi and Akha Trij to Rath Yatra, Janmashtami, Navratri, Dhanteras, Kali Chaudas, Diwali, Bestu Varas and Labh Pancham, come with the rule used for each and a CSV download.

How the Gujarati calendar works
The Gujarati calendar is lunisolar and amanta: each month runs from the day after Amas to the next Amas and is named after the sign the Sun is in when it begins. The bright half is sud (sudi, shukla) and ends with Poonam; the dark half is vad (vadi, krishna) and ends with Amas. When a lunar month contains no sankranti it becomes an adhik maas with the next month’s name — Adhik Jeth from 17 May to 14 June 2026 — so the festivals after it fall about three weeks later than the year before.
Unlike most of India, Gujarat starts the Vikram Samvat year in Kartak: the day after Diwali, Kartak Sud 1, is Bestu Varas, the Gujarati New Year. Vikram Samvat 2083 therefore begins on 10 November 2026, while the Chaitradi reckoning used in North India changed to 2083 at Chaitra in March. A day takes the tithi current at local sunrise, from the Lahiri-ayanamsa engine also used by the Hindu calendar converter and choghadiya.
| Gujarati month | Script | Begins |
|---|---|---|
| Kartak | કારતક | 22 Oct 2025 · 10 Nov 2026 |
| Fagan | ફાગણ | 18 Feb 2026 |
| Chaitra | ચૈત્ર | 19 Mar 2026 |
| Adhik Jeth | અધિક જેઠ | 17 May 2026 |
| Aso | આસો | 11 Oct 2026 |
Festival rules, checks and limits
Lunar festivals use the site’s shared festival rules: amanta month, tithi and the moment it must prevail — sunrise for Bestu Varas and Labh Pancham, sunset for Dhanteras, Diwali and Dev Diwali, midnight for Kali Chaudas and Sharad Purnima. Holi (Holika Dahan) is the day Fagan Poonam lasts beyond three prahars, otherwise the evening before, with Dhuleti the next day. For 2025 to 2027 the dates match Drik Panchang’s Gujarati calendars, and the 2026 dates match the Gujarat government holiday list (Uttarayan 14 January, Dhuleti 4 March, Janmashtami 4 September, Diwali 8 November, New Year 10 November; checked 25 October 2026), except for the cases under “Where almanacs differ”.
Almanacs such as those of temples and community trusts can keep a festival on another day when a tithi touches two sunrises or none; follow your family priest for vrat and muhurat. Choghadiya periods for business openings are on the choghadiya page, and fasting days on Ekadashi dates.
