Marathi calendar and panchang for any month
This free Marathi calendar shows any month from 1900 to 2099 as a grid of Gregorian dates with the tithi and nakshatra of each day at sunrise, the Marathi month (in English and Devanagari), a bar where a new month begins and a dot on festival days. Tap a day for its panchang: tithi and nakshatra with end times, yoga, karana, sunrise, sunset, Rahu kalam, Yamagandam and Gulika kalam.
Use it as a Marathi calendar 2026, 2025 or 2027 — for example the Marathi calendar September 2026 with Ganesh Chaturthi on the 14th and Anant Chaturdashi on the 25th. Times are for Pune by default; Mumbai, Nagpur, any listed city, your own location or typed coordinates work too. The year’s festivals, from Makar Sankranti and Gudi Padwa to Ashadhi Ekadashi, Ganeshotsav, Dasara, Kojagiri, Diwali and Kartiki Ekadashi, are listed with the rule used for each and can be downloaded as CSV.

How the Marathi calendar works
Maharashtra uses the Chaitradi amanta lunisolar calendar: months run from new moon to new moon, each named after the sign the Sun is in when the month begins, and the year opens on Gudi Padwa, Chaitra shuddha pratipada. A month in which the Sun changes sign no time at all is an adhik maas and repeats the following name — Adhik Jyeshtha from 17 May to 14 June 2026 — which is why festivals from Ashadhi Ekadashi to Diwali come about three weeks later in 2026 than in 2025. Each month has a bright half (shuddha paksha) and a dark half (vadya paksha).
A day takes the tithi and nakshatra current at local sunrise. The year is counted in the Shalivahana Shaka era — Shaka 1948 from 19 March 2026 and Shaka 1949 from 7 April 2027 — and named in the 60-year samvatsara cycle (Parabhava, then Plavanga). Positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa, from the same engine as the Hindu calendar converter and panchang today. The layout and wording here are this tool’s own and do not reproduce any printed almanac.
| Marathi month | Devanagari | 2026 first day |
|---|---|---|
| Chaitra | चैत्र | 19 March |
| Adhik Jyeshtha | अधिक ज्येष्ठ | 17 May |
| Shravan | श्रावण | 13 August |
| Bhadrapad | भाद्रपद | 12 September |
| Kartik | कार्तिक | 10 November |
Festival rules, checks and limits
Lunar festivals use the site’s shared festival rules: amanta month, tithi and the moment it must prevail — sunrise for Gudi Padwa and Ashadhi Ekadashi, midday for Ganesh Chaturthi and Ram Navami, sunset for Dhantrayodashi and Lakshmi Pujan, midnight for Kojagiri Purnima. Holika Dahan falls on the day Phalgun Paurnima lasts beyond three prahars, otherwise the evening before; Dhulivandan is the next day. Makar Sankranti is the day the Sun enters sidereal Makara, or the next day after sunset. For 2025 to 2027 these rules match Drik Panchang’s Marathi calendars and the Government of India holiday lists (checked 24–25 October 2026) except for the cases under “Where almanacs differ”.
Printed panchangs can choose a different day when a tithi touches two sunrises or none, and Smarta and Vaishnava reckonings of ekadashi differ. Follow your family’s almanac or priest for vrat and muhurat. For fasting days see Ekadashi dates; for the Gujarati year that starts after Diwali see the Gujarati calendar.
