Kannada calendar and panchanga for any month
This free Kannada calendar lays out any month from 1900 to 2099 as a grid of Gregorian dates. Every day shows its tithi and nakshatra at sunrise, a bar marks the day a Kannada month begins and a dot marks festivals. Tap a day to read its panchanga — tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana with end times, sunrise, sunset, Rahu kalam, Yamagandam and Gulika kalam — with the month name in Kannada script as well as English.
Use it as a Kannada calendar 2026 in English, or for 2025 and 2027. Times are calculated for Bengaluru by default; choose any city in the list, your own location or typed coordinates, and the dates follow that place and its time zone. The year’s Karnataka festivals — Makara Sankranti, Yugadi, Basava Jayanti, Varamahalakshmi, Gowri Habba, Ganesha Chaturthi, Mahalaya Amavasye, Dasara, Deepavali, Balipadyami and Kannada Rajyotsava — come with the rule used for each and a CSV download.

How the Kannada (Chandramana) calendar works
Karnataka follows the Chandramana, or lunar, calendar in the amanta form: each month starts the day after Amavasye and ends with the next Amavasye. The month is named after the sign the Sun occupies at the opening new moon — Chaitra begins with the Sun in Meena — and when a lunar month contains no sankranti it becomes an adhika masa and takes the following name. In 2026 Adhika Jyeshtha runs from 17 May to 14 June, so the festivals after it fall about three weeks later than in 2025.
The day is reckoned from sunrise, so a date carries the tithi and nakshatra current at local sunrise. The new year is Yugadi (Chaitra Shukla Pratipada): 19 March 2026 began Shaka 1948, the Parabhava samvatsara, and 7 April 2027 begins Plavanga. Coastal Tulu Nadu families who follow the solar Sauramana year keep their new year on Mesha Sankranti instead. Positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa, from the same engine as the Hindu calendar converter.
| Kannada month | Script | 2026 first day |
|---|---|---|
| Chaitra | ಚೈತ್ರ | 19 March |
| Adhika Jyeshtha | ಅಧಿಕ ಜ್ಯೇಷ್ಠ | 17 May |

| Kartika | ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ | 10 November |
Festival rules, checks and limits
Lunar festivals use the site’s shared festival rules: the amanta month, the tithi and the moment it must prevail — sunrise for Yugadi and Gowri Habba, midday for Ganesha Chaturthi and Sri Rama Navami, the afternoon for Mahalaya Amavasye and Vijayadashami. Makara Sankranti is the day the Sun enters sidereal Makara, or the next day when that happens after midday, as Karnataka kept it in 2025 and 2026. Varamahalakshmi is the Friday before Shravana Hunnime. For 2025 to 2027 the results match Drik Panchang’s Kannada calendars and the Karnataka 2026 holiday list (checked 25 October 2026) except for the dates listed under “Where almanacs differ”.
Mathas and printed panchangas can choose another day when a tithi covers two sunrises or none, and some still use Siddhantic rather than modern positions. Follow your family priest for vratas. Rahu kalam is shown for tradition, not advice; see also Rahu kaal today and the Telugu calendar, which uses the same months.

Yes — everything is in English, with month names also written in Kannada script.
Why do some calendars show another date?
Almanacs differ when a tithi spans two sunrises, or by method; the known cases for 2025–2027 are listed on the page.
Does the city matter?
Yes. Sunrise, Rahu kalam and tithi end times change with the place, and occasionally a festival moves by a day.
