Presets: long-video CPM = median for videos uploaded in 2024 (IsThisChannelMonetized data, reported 11 August 2025); Shorts RPM = AIR Media-Tech 2025 data (updated 23 January 2026). They are reported figures, not prices: no platform publishes a per-view payout. Estimates only — not financial or tax advice.

A video money calculator that shows a range, not a promise

This video earnings calculator estimates how much ad money your videos make from their views. Pick long videos or Shorts, type your views, choose where most viewers live and read an estimate with a low–high range, plus what that means per day, month and year. It also tells you how many views you need to reach a target, and how the same views would pay with an audience in another country.

No video platform publishes a fixed payout per view. Earnings depend on how many views show ads, what advertisers bid in each country and season, and the share the platform passes to you. So every rate here is editable, the presets are reported figures with their source and date, and the answer is a range. If you have a monetised channel, the most accurate input is your own RPM from your analytics.

How to use the Video Earnings Calculator

  1. Choose Long videos or Shorts.
  2. Type your views and say whether they are a total, per day or per month.
  3. Pick your main audience country to load preset rates, or type your own CPM or Shorts RPM.
  4. For long videos, adjust the share of views that show ads, ads per view and your revenue share — or switch to I know my RPM and paste it from your analytics.
  5. Choose rupees, pounds or euros and type today’s exchange rate if you want local money, then set a target to see the views it needs.

Video Earnings Calculator features

Long videos and Shorts

Long videos use CPM × views that show ads × your 55% share; Shorts use a per-1,000-view Shorts RPM that is already after the 45% creator share.

Country presets with sources

Seven audience countries — the US, UK, India, the Philippines, Canada, Australia and Germany — with dated, cited rates you can overwrite.

Your own RPM

Skip the assumptions and multiply views by the RPM your analytics report.

Range and projections

A ± band, daily, monthly and yearly figures, and views needed for a target.

The same views priced for every preset country, with bars.

How the estimate is worked out

Long videos: earnings = views × share of views that show ads × ads per monetised view × CPM ÷ 1,000 × your revenue share. With the defaults — 100,000 views, 50% monetised, one ad each, a $11.95 CPM and a 55% share — that is 50,000 ad impressions, $597.50 paid by advertisers and $328.63 to you, an effective RPM of about $3.29 per 1,000 views.

Shorts: ad revenue from the Shorts feed is pooled each month, part goes to music licensing, the rest is split by each creator’s share of engaged views, and the creator keeps 45% of their allocation. The result is usually reported as a Shorts RPM, so earnings = engaged views × Shorts RPM ÷ 1,000. At the US preset of $0.328, 100,000 Shorts views make about $32.80.

For the difference between RPM and CPM, and to work them out from your own revenue, use the creator RPM and CPM calculator. Advertisers planning spend can use the CPM calculator.

Preset rates and where they come from (as of 24 October 2026)

CPM: median for videos uploaded in 2024, IsThisChannelMonetized data reported by Digital Information World (11 August 2025). Shorts RPM: AIR Media-Tech, “YouTube Shorts RPM: what to expect in 2026” (2025 data across its partner channels, updated 23 January 2026). Revenue shares: YouTube Partner Program terms — 55% of net revenue from ads on long-form videos and 45% of the revenue allocated to your Shorts (support.google.com, checked 24 October 2026). The 50% monetised share and one ad per view are this tool’s assumptions, not published figures, so replace them with your own numbers.

Limits

  • Niche matters as much as country: finance and software audiences attract far higher bids than entertainment. The presets do not adjust for niche — type your own CPM.
  • Only ads are counted. Memberships, premium-subscriber revenue, paid chat, sponsorships and affiliate income are extra.
  • You must be in the partner programme and your videos must be suitable for ads; views from viewers without ads still count as views but earn nothing.
  • Results are before tax and any withholding tax.

Video Earnings Calculator FAQ

How much money do you get per 1,000 views?

It is your RPM, and it varies widely: well under $1 to several dollars per 1,000 long-video views depending on country, niche and season, and from under a cent to about $0.33 per 1,000 Shorts views in the reported 2025 figures. With the US defaults this calculator gives about $3.29 per 1,000 long-video views.

How does a video money calculator for India work?

Choose India as the audience country, then pick rupees and type today’s rate for 1 US dollar. Indian audiences have low reported CPMs ($0.96 median), so 100,000 long-video views make about $26 with the default assumptions.

Do Shorts pay less than long videos?

Per view, usually yes. Shorts revenue is shared from a pooled feed and the creator keeps 45% of their allocation, so reported Shorts RPMs are a fraction of long-video RPMs.

Can I estimate earnings from a channel name or link?

Not here. That needs the platform’s data, and outside tools that claim to do it guess from public view counts. This calculator works from views and rates you can check.

Why is my real RPM different?

Your audience mix, niche, video length, ad formats and the time of year all change it. Use “I know my RPM” with your analytics figure for the best estimate.

Is this financial advice?

No. It is an estimate for planning, not a promise of income, and not financial or tax advice.
