Make share links for every social network at once

A share link is a URL that opens a social network’s “create post” screen with your page already filled in. Instead of looking up the format for each network, type your page URL and title into this share link generator and get correctly encoded links for Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, Pinterest, Threads, email and SMS — each one copyable and testable with a click.

Below the links you get a copy-ready HTML share buttons snippet with lightweight CSS, so you can add share buttons to a blog, newsletter landing page or Shopify theme without a third-party script, trackers or a slow widget. There is also a button to try the native Web Share API, which opens your phone’s share sheet.

How to use the Share Link Generator

    1. Enter the Page URL to share — the full address starting with https://.
    2. Add a Title and optional Text; these pre-fill the post on networks that allow it.
    3. For X, add comma-separated hashtags and your handle in via. For Pinterest, give the Image URL of the picture to pin.
    4. Use Copy or Open on any link to test it, or Copy all links for a document.
    5. Copy the HTML share buttons snippet and paste it into your page; untick “Include CSS” if you style buttons yourself.

    Share Link Generator features

    Ten destinations

Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, Pinterest, Threads, email (mailto) and SMS, using each platform’s current official intent URL.

    Correct encoding

Ampersands, question marks, spaces, emoji and line breaks in your title or text are percent-encoded so the shared page URL is never cut short.

    X-specific fields

Hashtags and “via @handle” parameters, with a warning when the post would exceed 280 characters.

    HTML buttons

A dependency-free snippet with brand colours, rel="noopener" and accessible labels, previewed live.

    Web Share API test

Checks whether the visitor’s browser can use the native share sheet — the best option on phones.

    Nothing tracked

Links are plain URLs built in your browser; no share counters, cookies or scripts from the networks.

Share URL formats (as of 2025)

Facebook and LinkedIn ignore any text you pass and build the preview from the page’s og:title, og:description and og:image tags. Set those correctly with the Open Graph Generator and Meta Tag Generator.

Share buttons vs. the Web Share API

Share links work in every browser and are easy to style, but they send people to a specific network. The Web Share API (navigator.share()) instead opens the device’s own share sheet, listing whatever apps the person has installed — WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Messages, Notes and so on. It is supported in Safari on iPhone and Mac, Chrome and Samsung Internet on Android, and Edge and Chrome on Windows, but not in Firefox or Chrome on Linux. A good pattern is to show a single “Share” button that uses the API when available and falls back to your share links otherwise.

Tips for links that get clicked

    • Tag the shared URL with campaign parameters from the UTM Builder (for example utm_source=whatsapp) so you can see which network sends visitors.
    • Keep the X text under about 230 characters to leave room for the shortened link and hashtags.
    • For WhatsApp and Telegram, put the most important words first — the link preview is generated from your page, but the text is what people read in the chat.
    • Pinterest pins need a vertical image, ideally 1000 × 1500 px; see Social Media Image Sizes.
    • Do not add share counters that call the networks’ APIs; most have been discontinued and they slow pages down.

    Share Link Generator FAQ

How do I create a Facebook share link?

Enter your page URL; the Facebook link is https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u= followed by the encoded URL. Facebook builds the preview from your page’s Open Graph tags, so custom text is not supported.

How do I make a “share on X” link with hashtags?

Fill in the URL, title and the hashtags field (comma-separated, without the # sign). The generated x.com/intent/post link includes text, url, hashtags and, if provided, via parameters.

Why does the shared link get cut off after a question mark or ampersand?

The URL was not percent-encoded. This tool encodes every parameter, turning ? into %3F and & into %26, so the full page address survives.

Can I share to Instagram or TikTok with a link?

No. Neither offers a web share URL for posts; sharing is only possible through their apps or the Web Share API on a phone. Use the Web Share test button to see whether your device supports it.

Does the HTML snippet need JavaScript?

No. It is plain anchor tags with a few lines of CSS. Each button opens the network’s share page in a new tab using rel="noopener noreferrer" for safety.

Is the share link generator free?

Yes — free, no sign-up, and everything is generated in your browser without any tracking scripts.
