Mulank and bhagyank calculator (मूलांक भाग्यांक)
In Indian numerology two numbers come from your date of birth. The mulank (मूलांक, root or psychic number) comes from the day of the month you were born; the bhagyank (भाग्यांक, destiny number) comes from the whole date. This free mulank and bhagyank calculator gives both from one date of birth, with the arithmetic shown, the planet of each number, the weekday of that planet and a short meaning in both English and Hindi.
Numerology is a cultural tradition, not a measurement. This page is for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice. यह केवल परंपरा और मनोरंजन के लिए है, भविष्यवाणी या सलाह नहीं।

How the mulank and bhagyank are worked out
The mulank is the day of the month reduced to one digit. Born on the 15th: 1 + 5 = 6. Born on the 29th: 2 + 9 = 11, and 1 + 1 = 2. Unlike the Western life path, no master numbers are kept, so the mulank is always 1 to 9. The bhagyank is every digit of the date added and reduced to one digit. For 15-08-1995: 1 + 5 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 38, then 3 + 8 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2.
Adding day, month and year after reducing each gives the same single digit, because reducing is the same as taking the remainder after dividing by nine. That is why different Indian sources agree on the bhagyank even when they show different working.
Numbers and their planets
The planet of each number is the usual Indian assignment. Rahu and Ketu have no weekday of their own; the page follows the classical saying that Rahu acts like Saturn and Ketu like Mars, and says some lists differ.
| Number | Planet | Hindi keywords |
|---|---|---|
Mulank versus bhagyank
Many books say the mulank describes how you appear and act day to day, and the bhagyank describes the path of your life. When they are the same number, the qualities are said to be doubled. The lists differ from author to author, which is why the page keeps to short keywords. For lucky days and dates see the lucky number calculator, for the Western equivalent the life path number calculator, and for a grid of the date digits the Lo Shu grid calculator.
Mulank & Bhagyank Calculator FAQ
How do I calculate my mulank by date of birth?
Reduce the day of the month to one digit: the 28th gives 2 + 8 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. Enter the date above and the page shows it.
What is the bhagyank calculator in Hindi?
भाग्यांक जन्म तिथि के सभी अंकों का जोड़ है, जिसे एक अंक तक घटाया जाता है। ऊपर तारीख भरें, गणना और हिंदी में अर्थ दिख जाएगा।
Is a mulank of 11 or 22 possible?
No. In the Indian system 11 reduces to 2 and 22 to 4, so the mulank is always between 1 and 9.
Which is more important, mulank or bhagyank?
Books differ. Many treat the mulank as everyday character and the bhagyank as the life path; this page presents both neutrally.
Why does the page show a weekday for each number?
Each number has a planet and each planet has a weekday. Rahu (4) and Ketu (7) have none, so a stated convention is used.
Is this scientific?
No. It is a tradition. Use it for fun and reflection, not decisions.
