Lucky number calculator by date of birth and name
This free lucky number calculator works out the numbers that Indian and Western numerology books call lucky for you. From your date of birth it finds the mulank (root or psychic number, from the day you were born) and the bhagyank (destiny number, from the whole date); from your name it finds the Chaldean name number. It then lists the weekdays and the dates of the month that go with those numbers, and checks whether a car, house or phone number adds up to one of them.
Every number comes with its arithmetic so you can check it by hand. Lucky numbers are a cultural tradition: this page is for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice, and no number improves your chances in a lottery or any game of chance.
How to use the Lucky Number Calculator
- Enter your Date of birth.
- Optionally type your Name in English or Devanagari letters to add the Chaldean name number (a Devanagari name is written in simple Latin letters first, and the spelling used is shown).
- Optionally type a car, house or phone number to check its total.
- Read your mulank, bhagyank and name number, then the lucky days and the highlighted dates.
- Use Copy result to keep the list.

How the lucky numbers are calculated
Mulank: reduce the day of the month to one digit. Someone born on the 15th has 1 + 5 = 6. Bhagyank: add every digit of the date written as DD-MM-YYYY. For 15-08-1995 that is 1 + 5 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 38 → 11 → 2. Name number: add the Chaldean values of the letters (A, I, J, Q, Y = 1; B, K, R = 2; C, G, L, S = 3; D, M, T = 4; E, H, N, X = 5; U, V, W = 6; O, Z = 7; F, P = 8) and reduce. PRIYA SHARMA is 13 + 16 = 29 → 11 → 2.
Lucky dates are the days whose digits reduce to your mulank: for 6 these are the 6th, 15th and 24th of any month.
Numbers, planets and lucky days
Indian numerology pairs each number with a planet, and the planet with its weekday from the seven-day planetary week. Rahu and Ketu have no weekday of their own; this page follows the classical saying that Rahu behaves like Saturn and Ketu like Mars, and notes that some lists differ.
| Number | Planet | Lucky day |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sun (सूर्य) | Sunday |
| 2 | Moon (चंद्र) | Monday |
| 3 | Jupiter (गुरु) | Thursday |
| 4 | Rahu (राहु) | Saturday (some lists: Sunday) |
| 5 | Mercury (बुध) | Wednesday |
| 6 | Venus (शुक्र) | Friday |
| 7 | Ketu (केतु) | Tuesday (some lists: Monday) |
| 8 | Saturn (शनि) | Saturday |
| 9 | Mars (मंगल) | Tuesday |
Checking a car, house or phone number
Add the digits only: the plate MH 12 AB 4521 gives 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 2 + 1 = 15 → 6, the same as a mulank of 6. Some practitioners also count the letters with their Chaldean values, which here gives 27 → 9, so the page shows both. Treat a match as a bit of fun — it says nothing about how safe a car is or how good a house is. Lucky Number Calculator FAQ
How do I find my lucky number by date of birth?
Reduce the day you were born to one digit — that is your mulank, the number most Indian numerology books call your lucky number. This lucky number calculator also adds the bhagyank from the whole date.
How do I find my lucky number by name?
Add the Chaldean values of the letters of your name and reduce the total to one digit. Enter your name above to see it. A name in Devanagari is first written in Latin letters (प्रिया शर्मा → Priya Sharma); another spelling, such as Raam for राम (Ram), gives a different number.
Which is my real lucky number, mulank or bhagyank?
Books differ. Many treat the mulank as the everyday lucky number and the bhagyank as the number of fortune; numbers that appear in both are said to be strongest.
How do I choose a lucky number for my car?
Type the registration number; the tool adds its digits and tells you whether the total matches your mulank or bhagyank. It is a tradition, not a safety rating.
Can a lucky number help me win the lottery?
No. Lottery draws are random and every combination is equally likely. No numerology method changes the odds.
Why do 4 and 7 have unusual lucky days?
They belong to Rahu and Ketu, which have no weekday. This page uses Saturday and Tuesday and says which other days some lists use.
