Organize PDF pages with drag and drop

Scanned pages out of order, an appendix that belongs at the front, a sideways chart, a blank page in the middle — the Organize PDF tool fixes all of it on one screen. Every page appears as a preview you can drag into a new position, rotate or remove, and the tool saves the rearranged PDF in a single step.

Drag-and-drop works with a mouse and with touch: on a phone or tablet, hold the grip handle on a page and slide it to where it belongs. Arrow buttons under each page offer a precise alternative, which also makes the tool usable from the keyboard.

Your document never leaves your device. The previews are drawn and the new PDF is assembled by your browser, so even confidential files are safe to rearrange.

How to reorder PDF pages

  1. Drop your PDF onto the upload area or click to choose it. Each page appears as a numbered preview.
  2. Drag pages into the order you want: hold the grip handle (top-right of each page) and move it, or drag the preview with a mouse. You can also use the left and right arrow buttons.
  3. Rotate a page 90° clockwise with its rotate button, or remove it with the bin button — tap again to restore it.
  4. Use “Reverse order” for back-to-front scans, “Rotate all” for a sideways document, and “Reset” to start over.
  5. Press “Save organized PDF”, then “Download PDF”.

Organize PDF features

Touch-friendly drag and drop

A dedicated grip handle lets you drag pages on phones without fighting the page scroll, and the page scrolls automatically when you drag near the edge.

Precise move buttons

Left and right arrows move a page one place at a time — ideal for small fixes and for keyboard users.

Rotate and remove in place

Fix sideways pages and drop unwanted ones without switching tools. Removed pages stay visible, dimmed, until you save, so you can change your mind.

One-click helpers

Reverse the whole document, rotate every page, or reset everything back to the original.

Original page numbers

Each preview keeps its original page number, so you always know which page is which after moving it.

Lossless and private

Pages are copied, not re-rendered, and nothing is uploaded.

Common reasons to reorganize a PDF

  • Back-to-front scans: sheet feeders often scan the last page first. Press “Reverse order” and you are done.
  • Double-sided scans done in two passes: scanning all fronts and then all backs gives pages 1, 3, 5 … 2, 4, 6. Drag the backs into place, or use Split PDF and Merge PDF for very long documents.
  • Assembling an application: put the cover letter first, then the form, then the certificates — after combining everything with Merge PDF.
  • Presentations and handouts: move appendix slides to the end and remove backup slides before sending.

Organize, rotate or delete — what is the difference?

Organize PDF combines the most common page edits in one place. If you only need one of them, the dedicated tools are quicker: Rotate PDF rotates while keeping bookmarks and form fields, and Delete PDF Pages lets you type ranges like 5-20 to remove many pages at once.

Because Organize PDF builds a new document from your pages, document-level extras such as the bookmark panel and interactive form logic are not carried over. Page content, web links and comments on each page are kept, and the document title and author are copied across.

Tips for long documents

Previews are drawn as you scroll, so even a few hundred pages open quickly. To move a page a long way, drag it towards the top or bottom edge of the screen and the page scrolls with you. For very large reorganizations, it can be easier to split the document into sections, organize each one and merge them back together. If page numbers printed on the pages no longer match, add new ones with Add Page Numbers.

Organize PDF FAQ

How do I rearrange pages in a PDF for free?

Add the PDF, drag the page previews into the order you want (or use the arrow buttons), and press “Save organized PDF”. There is no sign-up, watermark or page limit.

Can I reorder PDF pages on my phone?

Yes. Hold the grip handle in the corner of a page preview and drag it to its new position. The arrow buttons under each page work too.

Can I rotate or delete pages while reordering?

Yes. Each page has a rotate button (90° clockwise per tap) and a remove button. Removed pages stay visible but dimmed until you save, so you can restore them.

Will reorganizing reduce the quality of my PDF?

No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their original quality.

Is it safe to organize a confidential PDF here?

Yes. Everything happens inside your browser; your file is never uploaded to a server.

Why are my bookmarks gone after saving?

The new PDF is built from your pages in their new order, and bookmarks belong to the old document structure, so they are not copied. Page content, links and comments are kept.
