Copy an invisible character that actually works
An invisible character is a real Unicode character that takes up space (or no space) but shows nothing on screen. People use them to send a blank WhatsApp message, to keep an empty line in an Instagram caption or bio, to create an “invisible name” in games such as Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and Fortnite, and to put spacing exactly where a platform would otherwise trim it. This tool gives you the 17 most useful ones with one-tap copy buttons and explains where each one is accepted.
It also includes a detector: paste any text and every hidden character is highlighted with its code point, so you can find why a username is “already taken”, why a password won’t work after copying, or why code copied from a web page refuses to run. Remove them all with one click.
How to use the Invisible Character
- Press Copy invisible character to copy a single Hangul Filler (U+3164) — the best first choice.
- Paste it where you need it: a chat box, a game’s name field, an Instagram bio line or a caption.
- If the platform rejects it or shows a box, try the next row in the table — Braille Blank (U+2800) or a zero-width space — using its Copy button.
- Need a longer blank? Set a number under Copy several at once and press Copy N characters.
- To check text for hidden characters, paste it into the detector; use Remove all invisible characters to clean it.

Which invisible character should you use?
| Goal | Best character | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Blank name in a game | Hangul Filler U+3164, then U+115F or U+1160 | Counted as a letter by most name validators, renders as nothing |
| Blank WhatsApp or Telegram message | Hangul Filler U+3164 or Braille Blank U+2800 | Survives the “empty message” check |
| Empty line in Instagram caption or bio | Braille Blank U+2800 or No-Break Space U+00A0 | Instagram removes normal blank lines but keeps these |
| Blank Discord message | Braille Blank U+2800 | Discord trims Hangul Filler but keeps Braille |
| Stop a #hashtag or @mention linking | Zero Width Space U+200B after # or @ | Zero width, so the word looks normal |
| Wide visible gap | Em Space U+2003 (repeat it) | Widest standard space that is not trimmed |
Blank space vs. zero-width: what is the difference?
Characters such as the Hangul Filler, Braille Blank and the various spaces have a width: they push text apart and can fill a whole field with “nothing”. Zero-width characters (U+200B, U+200C, U+200D, U+2060, U+FEFF) have no width at all — the text looks identical, but the string is different. That is why a zero-width space hidden in a username can make it look like a name is taken, and why one inside code or a password breaks things silently.
The detector above reports both kinds, together with Unicode format characters such as the right-to-left override (U+202E), which can reverse text and is sometimes used to disguise file names.
Common problems and fixes
- The game shows a box ▯ instead of a blank. The game’s font has no glyph for that character. Try the Braille Blank or a Hangul filler variant.
- “Name contains invalid characters.” The platform filters that code point. Work down the table; the zero-width joiner (U+200D) and combining grapheme joiner (U+034F) are the hardest to filter.
- My blank message was sent as nothing. The app trimmed it. Use U+3164 or U+2800, not an ordinary space.
- Copied code won’t run. Paste it in the detector; a U+200B or U+FEFF from a web page is the usual culprit.
- Counting characters for a post? The Character Counter counts invisible characters too, and the Instagram Caption Formatter adds blank lines for you.
Invisible Character FAQ
What is an invisible character?
A Unicode character that prints nothing visible. Some have width (Hangul Filler U+3164, Braille Blank U+2800, no-break space U+00A0) and some have zero width (zero-width space U+200B). They are real characters, so apps treat text containing them as not empty.
How do I make an invisible name in Free Fire, PUBG or Fortnite?
Copy the Hangul Filler with the big button, paste it into the name field and save. If the game rejects it, try U+115F, U+1160 or the Braille Blank. Some games limit how often you can change names, so test in a less important field first.
How do I send a blank message on WhatsApp?
Copy the invisible character, paste it into the message box and press send. The message appears empty to the recipient but is delivered normally.
Is it safe to use invisible characters?
Yes for names, messages and captions. Do not use them to impersonate someone else’s username or to hide content from moderation — that breaks most platforms’ rules.
Why does a copied password or username not work?
A zero-width character was probably copied along with it. Paste the text into the detector, press “Remove all invisible characters” and copy the cleaned version.
Does the tool store what I paste?
No. Detection runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or saved.
