UAE leave salary calculator under the 2021 Labour Law
This UAE leave salary calculator works out what you are paid for annual leave in the UAE private sector, and what unused leave is worth when you leave a job. Enter your basic salary and allowances, the number of leave days and what the payment is for: leave you are taking (paid at full wage), unused leave paid in your final settlement (paid on basic salary), or leave encashed during employment. It shows the pay for one leave day, the total and the rule behind it.
Two extras sit on the same page: a leave balance check that counts the days you have earned since joining (30 days a year, or 2 days a month in your first year after six months), and an end-of-service gratuity calculator — 21 days’ basic pay for each of the first five years and 30 days for each year after, capped at two years’ wage. Use it online, in your browser, with nothing sent anywhere.

How UAE leave salary is calculated
Article 29 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 gives at least 30 days’ annual leave with full pay for each year of service, and 2 days a month when service is more than six months but less than a year. The law defines “wage” as basic pay plus the cash allowances in the contract, so leave you take is paid on that full wage. Article 67 treats a month as 30 days, so one leave day = monthly wage ÷ 30.
Example: basic AED 8,000 + housing AED 3,000 + transport AED 1,000 = AED 12,000 a month, or AED 400 a day. Thirty days of leave pay AED 12,000. If your contract pays leave on basic + housing only, it is AED 11,000.
When you leave, the Executive Regulations (Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, Article 19(2)) pay unused leave on basic salary only: 21 unused days on a basic of AED 8,000 = 8,000 ÷ 30 × 21 = AED 5,600. During employment you can carry forward up to half a year’s leave, or take cash for it at your current wage if your employer agrees.
End-of-service gratuity in the UAE
Under Article 51, a foreign full-time worker with at least one year of continuous service receives gratuity on the last basic wage: 21 days’ pay for each of the first five years and 30 days’ pay for each year after, with part years paid pro rata. Days of unpaid absence do not count, and the total may not exceed two years’ wage. The reason for leaving no longer cuts the amount, as it could under the old law.
Example: 1 June 2019 to 31 October 2026 is 2,710 days, or 7.42 years. On a basic of AED 8,000 (AED 266.67 a day): 5 × 21 = 105 days plus 2.42 × 30 = 72.74 days, so about 177.7 days’ pay ≈ AED 47,397. The employer may deduct amounts you owe. For Indian gratuity rules, use the gratuity calculator; for a full Indian exit statement, the full and final settlement calculator.
UAE Leave Salary Calculator FAQ
Is UAE leave salary paid on basic or gross salary?
Leave you take is paid at full wage — basic plus the cash allowances in your contract (Article 29 and the definition of wage). Unused leave paid when you leave is worked out on basic salary only (Executive Regulations Article 19(2)).
How many days of annual leave do I get in the UAE?
At least 30 days for each year of service, 2 days a month if you have worked between six months and a year, and leave for part of your final year.
How do I use the leave salary calculator UAE online?
Enter basic pay and allowances, choose the purpose and the leave days, and read the result. Everything runs in your browser.
How is gratuity calculated in the UAE?
21 days of basic pay per year for the first five years and 30 days per year after that, pro rata for part years, after at least one year of service and never more than two years’ wage.
Is one day’s pay basic ÷ 30 or ÷ 365?
The law counts a month as 30 days (Article 67), so ÷ 30 is used by default. Some employers use monthly × 12 ÷ 365; switch the day-rate method to compare.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is an estimate from the published law. Free-zone rules (DIFC, ADGM), UAE nationals and your own contract can differ; MOHRE decides disputes.
