A JEE college predictor that uses only JoSAA’s own closing ranks
This JEE college predictor lists the IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI programmes whose JoSAA 2026 closing rank was at or after your rank, for your category, gender and home state. It is built from the official JoSAA opening and closing rank tables — all 12,936 rows of the final Round 5, with the Round 1 closing rank next to each — not from guesses or coaching estimates.
Type your JEE Main common rank, and your JEE (Advanced) rank if you qualified. The predictor applies JoSAA’s rules: open seats are compared with your CRL, EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST seats with your category rank, PwD seats with your PwD rank, and NIT home-state seats only with candidates from that state. Nothing is uploaded and no registration is needed.
How to use the JEE College Predictor (JoSAA 2026 Closing Ranks)
- Enter your JEE Main 2026 rank (CRL) and, if you have one, your JEE (Advanced) rank.
- Choose your category, gender and state code of eligibility — the state where you first appeared for Class 12.
- If you are not GEN, add your category ranks; if you are PwD, tick the box and add your PwD ranks.
- Narrow the list with the institute types and the search box (for example “electrical” or “Warangal”).
- Read the table: green ranks are within last year’s closing rank, amber ones are borderline. Copy the list for your choice-filling notes.
JEE College Predictor (JoSAA 2026 Closing Ranks) features
Official data
JoSAA 2026 opening and closing ranks for 138 institutes, Round 1 and Round 5, downloaded from the JoSAA portal on 19 October 2026.
JoSAA quota rules
Home State, Other State and the special Goa (GO), J&K (JK) and Ladakh (LA) quotas from the 2026 Business Rules.
Right rank for each seat
CRL for open seats, category rank for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST seats, PwD rank for PwD seats; Advanced for IITs, Main for the rest.
Borderline margin
Optionally show programmes that closed up to 10 % or 25 % better than your rank — seats often open up in later rounds.
Female-only seats
Women see both gender-neutral and female-only (supernumerary) seats; men see gender-neutral seats only.
How to read JoSAA opening and closing ranks
The opening rank is the best rank admitted to a seat type in a round and the closing rank the last one. If your rank is 25,000 and a programme closed at 27,500 in Round 5, someone ranked after you got that seat, so you probably could have too — with the same choices, in the same year. Round 1 closing ranks are usually tighter; they relax by the final round as candidates withdraw or move up.
A rank with a “P” comes from the Preparatory Rank List used for some IIT reserved seats; such rows are shown in JoSAA’s tables but are not matched here.
What this predictor cannot know
- This year’s seat matrix, applicant numbers and choices — closing ranks shift every year, sometimes by thousands.
- CSAB special rounds for NIT+ seats after JoSAA, and institute spot rounds, which are not in JoSAA’s tables.
- B.Arch and B.Planning, which use JEE Main Paper 2 ranks (and the AAT for IITs).
- Eligibility rules such as the 75 % Class 12 criterion and programme-specific requirements.
JEE College Predictor (JoSAA 2026 Closing Ranks) FAQ
Is this JEE college predictor based on real data?
Yes. Every row is an official JoSAA 2026 opening or closing rank. The only thing the tool does is compare your ranks with them under JoSAA’s quota and category rules.
Where can I see JoSAA opening and closing ranks officially?
On josaa.nic.in under “Opening and Closing Ranks”, by round, institute type, institute, programme and seat type.
Does it cover CSAB?
No. The jee college predictor csab question comes up often, but CSAB special-round ranks are published separately by CSAB and are not included.
Which rank should I enter for the college predictor JEE Mains?
Your JEE Main CRL for open seats; for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC or ST seats also your category rank; PwD candidates their PwD rank. IITs need your JEE (Advanced) rank.
What is the home state for NIT quota?
The state where you first appeared for Class 12, called the state code of eligibility — not where you live. States without an NIT are mapped to one, e.g. Chandigarh to NIT Delhi.
Can I get a seat if my rank is just after the closing rank?
Sometimes, if fewer candidates take the seat this year. That is why borderline rows are marked — but there is no guarantee either way.
