Merge images into one picture

The Image Joiner lets you merge images — anywhere from 2 to 50 — into a single picture. Stack them vertically to stitch a long chat or web-page screenshot, place them side by side for a before-and-after comparison, or arrange them in a grid with as many columns as you like.

Images can keep their original sizes or be scaled to match each other, so a mix of phone screenshots and desktop captures still lines up neatly. Add spacing, an outer margin and a background colour (or keep it transparent), drag the files into the right order with a mouse or a finger, and download one PNG, JPG or WebP. Joining happens in your browser, so private conversations and documents are never uploaded.

How to combine images into one

  1. Drop your images onto the upload area, choose them from your device, or paste screenshots one after another with Ctrl+V.
  2. Put them in order: drag the handle on the left of each row, use the arrow buttons, or press Sort by name (screenshots are usually named by time).
  3. Choose the direction — Vertical, Horizontal or Grid — and, for a grid, the number of columns.
  4. Decide whether widths (or heights) should be equal, then set alignment, spacing, outer margin and background.
  5. Pick a format and output size limit, check the preview and press Download.

Image Joiner features

Three layouts

Top-to-bottom for screenshots and receipts, left-to-right for comparisons and strips, or a grid of up to 50 columns.

Match sizes automatically

Scale every image to the smallest, the largest or a custom width or height — or keep the originals untouched.

Drag, tap or sort

Reorder with drag and drop that works on touch screens, with arrow buttons, by file name or reversed in one tap.

Spacing, margin and background

Seamless joins with 0 px spacing, or white gutters, coloured frames and transparent gaps for PNG and WebP.

Sensible size limits

Very long results are scaled down to a longest side of 4,000, 8,000, 16,000 or 32,000 px so the browser can save them.

Private and free

No upload, no account, no watermark — your screenshots stay on your device.

Stitching screenshots into one long image

To share a long conversation, a receipt or a web page that does not fit on one screen, take overlapping screenshots from top to bottom, add them here and keep the direction on Vertical with spacing set to 0. Screenshots from the same phone are already the same width; “Match the smallest” makes sure a stray screenshot from another device is scaled to fit rather than sticking out.

The joiner places images exactly edge to edge — it does not detect or remove repeated content where two screenshots overlap. Crop the overlap off one of the images first with Crop Image if you want a seamless scroll. Need the result as a document instead? Screenshot to PDF turns screenshots into PDF pages.

Which layout and size option to choose

For decorative layouts with a fixed canvas, the Collage Maker is a better fit, and the Image Contact Sheet adds file names, dimensions and dates under every thumbnail.

Photo and signature in one image

Some application forms ask for the photograph and the signature as a single file. Choose Photo above signature (or side by side), add the photo first and the signature second, and type the form’s limit in File size limit — the joiner scales both to the same width, puts them on white with a 10 px border, and lowers the JPG quality until the file fits, reporting the exact bytes. Resize each part first with the exam photo resizer or the signature resizer if the form fixes their pixel sizes. India Post GDS is different: its portal asks for a photo up to 50 KB and a signature up to 20 KB as two separate files.

About very large images

Browsers limit how big a single image can be. Desktop Chrome and Edge handle up to about 32,767 px on a side, the WebP format stops at 16,383 px, and phones — iPhones in particular — run out of memory much sooner. The output size limit scales the joined image down evenly when it would be larger, and the preview shows the final size. If saving fails, choose a smaller limit, scale to a smaller custom size, or join the images in two batches. To shrink the finished file further, use the Image Compressor.

Image Joiner FAQ

How do I merge two images into one?

Add both images, choose Vertical to put one above the other or Horizontal to put them side by side, and press Download. The image joiner is free and works without an account.

How do I combine screenshots into one long image?

Add the screenshots in order (Sort by name usually does it), keep the direction on Vertical with 0 px spacing, and download a PNG. Crop any overlapping parts first for a seamless result.

Can I put photos side by side with a gap between them?

Yes. Choose Horizontal, set the spacing in pixels and pick a background colour for the gap — or Transparent for PNG and WebP.

What if my images are different sizes?

Choose “Match the smallest” or “Match the largest” to scale them to the same width (vertical and grid) or height (horizontal). Alignment decides where narrower images sit if you keep the original sizes.

How many images can I join?

Up to 50 at a time. Very large results are scaled down to the output size limit you choose so the browser can save them.

Will merging reduce quality?

Images that are not resized keep every pixel, and PNG output is lossless. Scaling to match sizes, the output size limit and JPG compression can soften details slightly.

How do I merge a photo and signature into one image?

Pick the Photo above signature preset, add the photo then the signature, enter the KB limit from your form and press Download. You get one JPG on a white background.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are joined on a canvas in your browser and the result is saved directly to your device.
