A free classroom points tracker for teams and students
This classroom points tracker puts a scoreboard on your projector or interactive whiteboard. Add your teams, houses or students, then tap the big buttons to award points as the lesson goes on. Scores update with a short animation and an optional sound, the current leader is marked with a star, and everything is saved in your browser so the board is still there tomorrow.
Set a target score to give the class something to aim for: each card shows a progress bar and a celebration plays once when a team reaches it. When you need paper instead of a screen, the same scores print as a classroom points chart with one star for each point.
How to use the Classroom Points Tracker
- Choose Teams or houses or Individual students, then add names one by one or paste a list under “Add many names at once”.
- Set the small and big steps (for example +1 and +5) and, if you like, a target score.
- Tap +1, +5 or −1 on a card during the lesson. Use Undo if you tap the wrong one.
- Tick Leader first to keep the highest score at the top, or leave it off to keep your order.
- Download the scores as CSV, or print the points chart as a PDF.
Classroom Points Tracker features
Big, touch-friendly buttons
Every button is at least 44 pixels tall, so it works on a whiteboard, tablet or phone.
Sounds you can switch off
Short chimes for points, a low tone for deductions and a fanfare at the target; sounds play only after you press a button.
Undo and reset
Undo steps back through the last changes, including a reset, and the reset button needs two presses.
Target and leader
A progress bar on each card, a star on the leader and one celebration when the target is reached.
Printable chart
A chart of stars on A4 or Letter, or a blank one for stamps and stickers.
Ideas for using a class points system
- Award points for behaviour you want to see, such as helping, teamwork and effort, and say why each time so the points carry a message.
- Use teams for whole-class energy and individual boards for small groups; avoid public rankings if a student may feel singled out.
- Agree a reward for reaching the target in advance, and keep it small and shared, such as extra play time or choosing the next story.
- Reset weekly or monthly so every team has a fresh chance. Download the CSV first if you want a record.
Setting steps and targets that fit your class
A small step of 1 suits quick praise during a lesson, while a big step of 5 or 10 works for finished projects, tidy desks or a good week. If you award points often, choose a higher target such as 100 so one lesson cannot decide the winner; for a short activity, a target of 20 gives a visible finish line. The bar on each card fills towards the target, or towards the current leader when no target is set, so younger children can see progress without reading the numbers.
Privacy and limits
Names and scores are stored only in this browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data removes the board. The tool does not sync between devices; use one screen for the class and download the CSV to share results. For marks and grades rather than points, try the gradebook; for seating, the seating chart maker.
Classroom Points Tracker FAQ
Is this classroom points tracker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and works in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or interactive whiteboard.
Are scores saved?
Yes, in your browser, so the board is there when you come back on the same device. Clearing site data removes it, so download the CSV for a record.
Can I use it for houses or individual students?
Both. Add houses as teams or add every student by name; up to sixty names fit on one board.
Can I turn the sounds off?
Yes, untick Sounds. Sounds only ever play after you press a button.
Can I print a points chart?
Yes. The printable chart shows a star for each point, up to the number of boxes you choose, or prints blank for hand-marking.
Can scores go below zero?
Not by default. Tick “Allow scores below 0” if you want deductions to go negative.
