One row per student. Columns: Name, Class, Roll, Admission no, Parent, Days present, Working days, Rank, Remarks, then one column per subject, with the maximum in the header, such as “Maths /80”. Tabs or semicolons also work, so you can paste straight from a spreadsheet.

Print

PreviewA4 portrait · 210 × 297 mm · 1 page

Printing sends only the sheet to the printer at 100% scale. The PDF is vector (sharp at any size); the PNG shows the first page. Everything is drawn in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Your school details and class are saved in this browser only; nothing is uploaded. Marks are used exactly as typed: check totals and grades against your school’s own rules before issuing a card, as boards and schools differ in rounding, best-of-subjects and pass rules. The PDF fonts cover Latin letters; other scripts print as “?” in the PDF, so use the PNG or Print for those.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or upload is sent to a server.

A free report card maker for schools and teachers

This report card maker turns a list of marks into a clean, printable report card. Add your school name and logo, enter the subjects with their maximum marks, type each student’s marks, and the card shows the percentage, grade, total, result, attendance and your remarks, with signature lines for the class teacher, parent and principal.

It is built for both Indian and US style cards: choose the CBSE nine-point scale (A1 to E2), US letter grades, letter grades with plus and minus, or write your own scale. For a whole class, import a CSV and print every card in one go. Everything happens in your browser; student names and marks are never uploaded.

How to use the Report Card Maker

  1. Fill in the School section and add your logo if you have one.
  2. Choose the grade scale and the pass mark, or edit the bands to match your board.
  3. Enter the student’s details, the subjects with maximum marks, and the marks obtained.
  4. Add attendance and remarks. Use Add student for more cards, or import a CSV for a class.
  5. Check the preview (use the page buttons), then press Print report cards or download the PDF.

Report Card Maker features

Grades from an editable scale

Grades follow “minimum % = grade” bands. Presets for CBSE and US grading, and every band can be changed.

Totals and result

Total, percentage, overall grade and PASS or FAIL against your pass mark. Absent (AB) and blank subjects are left out of the total.

Class import and export

Import a CSV or paste from a spreadsheet to get one card per student; export the class again as CSV.

Logo and colours

Your logo appears on every card in the preview, print, PDF and PNG, with an accent colour for the header and table.

Saved locally

School details and the class are kept in this browser so you can come back to finish the cards.

How percentages and grades are worked out

  • The percentage for a subject is marks obtained divided by maximum marks, times 100. The overall percentage is the sum of obtained marks divided by the sum of maximum marks of the subjects that have marks.
  • A grade is the highest band whose minimum is at or below the percentage, so 91 is A1 and 90.99 is A2 on the CBSE scale. Percentages are not rounded before grading.
  • The result is PASS when every subject is at or above the pass mark (33% by default) and FAIL otherwise. Schools differ here (internal marks, grace marks, best of five), so change the pass mark or switch the result off if your rules are different.

CBSE nine-point grade scale

These are the bands CBSE published in its 2009 circular for Classes IX and X; D is the lowest passing grade. Other classes and boards use their own scales, so check your board’s current notice and edit the bands if needed. Marks above the maximum are flagged so you can correct typing mistakes.

Marks %GradeMarks %Grade
91–100A141–50C2
81–90A233–40D
71–80B121–32E1
61–70B20–20E2
51–60C1

Preparing a class CSV

Use one row per student. A header such as Name,Class,Roll,Days present,Working days,Remarks,Maths /80,English /100 works: columns it recognises become student details and every other column becomes a subject, with the maximum after a slash. Download the sample file to see the layout. Write remarks with the report card comments generator, and keep running marks in the gradebook.

Report Card Maker FAQ

How do I make a report card for a student?

Enter the school name, the subjects with maximum marks and the marks obtained. The card updates as you type; print it or save a PDF.

Can I add my school logo?

Yes. Choose an image under School logo; it is resized in your browser and placed in the header of every card, including the PDF and PNG.

Can I print report cards for the whole class?

Import a CSV (or paste from a spreadsheet) and keep “Print a card for every student” ticked. Each student gets one page.

Does it use CBSE or US grading?

Both are presets. CBSE uses the nine-point scale A1 to E2; the US presets give A to F with or without plus and minus. You can edit the bands to match any scale.

Is student data uploaded?

No. Names, marks and logos stay in your browser. They are saved locally so you can return later; clear your browser data to remove them.

What if a student was absent?

Type AB (or leave the marks blank). The subject is shown but left out of the total and percentage.
