A free shipping label maker for 4×6 thermal labels and plain paper
Shipping a few parcels yourself — from a home business, an online shop or a one-off sale? This shipping label maker lays out a clean, readable label with the recipient in large type, your return address, the order number, weight, box dimensions, a “box 1 of 2” count, handling marks such as Fragile, and a scannable Code 128 barcode of the order number.
Print it on a 4×6 inch thermal label (the size desktop label printers use) or on plain A4 or US Letter paper with two labels per sheet to cut and tape on. Download a vector PDF or a PNG, or print straight from your browser. Addresses never leave your device.
It is a sender-made label, not a postage label: it carries no carrier logo, tracking number or postage. If your courier gives you its own label, use that one; this one suits hand-delivery, drop-off counters that accept your own label, and inner cartons.

Printing on a 4×6 thermal label printer
- Choose 4 × 6 in label, press Download PDF and print the PDF with the paper size set to 4 × 6 in (100 × 150 mm) and scale at 100% or “Actual size”.
- Direct thermal printers print black only and need no ink — the label is drawn in pure black on white for the best scan.
- For a desktop inkjet or laser printer, choose the A4 or Letter two-up layout, print at 100% and cut along the dashed line.
- Cover the label with clear tape if the parcel may get wet, but keep tape off the barcode bars to avoid glare.
What to put on a parcel label
Work out the chargeable weight with the volumetric weight calculator and compare rates with the shipping cost calculator. For sheets of small address stickers, use the address label maker.
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Recipient name, full address, postcode / PIN, phone | Delivery staff need the phone number for gated flats and offices |
| Return address | An undeliverable parcel comes back to you instead of being lost |
| Order number and barcode | Matches the box to your records at packing and at the counter |
| Weight and dimensions | Couriers bill the higher of actual and volumetric weight |
| Box k of n and handling marks | Keeps multi-box orders together and asks for care |
Shipping Label Maker (4×6) FAQ
Is this shipping label maker free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing you type is uploaded.
What size is a 4×6 shipping label?
4 × 6 inches, or 101.6 × 152.4 mm. In metric markets the same rolls are sold as 100 × 150 mm; the PDF prints on them at 100% scale.
Can I use this label instead of a courier label?
Only where the courier accepts your own label. It has no postage, tracking number or carrier branding, so it does not replace a label the carrier issues with a paid shipment.
Which barcode does it use?
Code 128, which encodes letters, digits and symbols. By default it holds the order number; type anything else under “Barcode text”.
Why does my address show “?” in the PDF?
The PDF uses the standard Latin fonts, so letters outside them — such as Hindi or Tamil script, or the ₹ sign — become “?”. The PNG and the printed preview keep them.
Can I print several labels at once?
Yes. Set “Boxes in this shipment” and every box gets its own label, one per 4×6 page or two per A4 or Letter sheet.
