Everything you need to prepare, print or set out.
A hook that sparks curiosity and brings out what students already know: a question, demonstration, story or picture.
Hands-on activity where students investigate before you explain. Say what they do and what you ask.
Students share findings; you introduce the key ideas, vocabulary and models.
Students use the idea in a new situation or go deeper.
How you will check understanding: exit ticket, questions, observation, quiz.
Support for students who struggle, challenge for those who are ready.

A lesson plan template builder for the formats teachers actually use

This lesson plan template builder gives you a ready structure and lets you fill it in, instead of starting from a blank document. Choose a format — the 5E model, a B.Ed. teacher-training plan, a DepEd-style daily lesson log, direct instruction (I do, we do, you do) or a simple plan — then write your objectives, type each section and print or save the result.

Objectives are the part many teachers find hardest to word, so the tool includes lists of action verbs from Bloom’s revised taxonomy, from remember to create. Pick a level, click a verb and it starts a new objective for you to finish. It is a template, not an AI writer: you decide what goes in each box, and nothing leaves your browser.

How to use the Lesson Plan Template Builder

  1. Choose a lesson plan format and enter the school, teacher, subject, class, topic, date and duration.
  2. Write the objectives: pick a Bloom’s level, click a verb, and finish the sentence. Change the starter if your school prefers another wording.
  3. Fill in the lesson sections. Anything you leave empty prints as ruled lines, so the plan can also be finished by hand.
  4. Check the preview and page buttons; change paper size if needed.
  5. Press Print lesson plan, download a PDF or PNG, or download a .doc file for Word. “Load an example lesson” shows a completed Grade 4 science plan.

Lesson Plan Template Builder features

Five formats

5E, B.Ed., DepEd-style, direct instruction and a simple plan, each with its own section names and prompts.

Bloom’s verb picker

Six cognitive levels with twelve action verbs each, and an editable starter such as “By the end of the lesson, students will be able to”.

Your text is kept when you switch

Sections that appear in both formats, such as materials or homework, keep what you typed.

Print, PDF and Word

A4 or Letter, vector PDF, PNG, or a .doc file that opens in Word and Google Docs.

Saved locally

The plan is stored in your browser so you can finish it later; clear all fields starts again.

Which lesson plan format should I use?

The 5E model was developed by the Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (Bybee and colleagues). The DepEd-style sections follow the layout of DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2016 on daily lesson preparation; schools and regions sometimes use their own versions, so check the format your supervisor requires and use this as a working copy.

Writing objectives with Bloom’s verbs

The verb lists come from the revised taxonomy by Anderson and Krathwohl (2001). Once the plan is written, build matching assessment with the rubric maker or the question paper maker.

  • Choose a verb you can observe: “explain”, “solve”, “label”. Avoid “know” and “understand”, which cannot be seen or measured.
  • Use lower-level verbs (remember, understand) for new topics and higher ones (analyze, evaluate, create) for later lessons or stronger groups.
  • Keep to one to three objectives per lesson, and make sure the assessment checks exactly what the objectives say.

Lesson Plan Template Builder FAQ

How do I make a lesson plan?

Choose a format, write one to three objectives, then fill in each section: how the lesson starts, what students do, and how you will check learning. Print it or download it for Word.

Is there a free lesson plan template to download?

Yes. Fill in the fields and download a PDF, PNG or a .doc file that opens in Word, free and with no sign-up.

What is the 5E lesson plan format?

It is a five-phase model: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate. Students investigate before the teacher explains, and the lesson ends by checking what they learned.

Does it include a B.Ed. lesson plan format?

Yes. The B.Ed. option has previous knowledge, introduction, a two-column presentation of teacher and pupil activity, blackboard summary, recapitulation and homework.

Is this an AI lesson plan generator?

No. It is a template builder with verb lists: you write the content. That keeps the plan accurate to your class and keeps your text private.

Can I edit the plan in Word?

Press “Download for Word (.doc)”. The file opens in Microsoft Word and Google Docs, where you can change fonts and layout.
