This is gross cost-to-company, not take-home pay. In-hand salary is lower after employee PF, professional tax and income tax, and CTC often includes employer PF, gratuity and variable pay you don’t receive monthly.

Convert any salary between hourly, monthly and yearly

The salary calculator converts pay between every common period: hourly, daily, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annual. Enter what you earn and how often you are paid, set your hours, days and weeks, and the full table of equivalents appears instantly — useful for comparing a job offer, an hourly contract and a salaried role on equal terms.

For India, a quick view converts LPA (lakhs per annum) to monthly CTC and back: 12 LPA is ₹12,00,000 a year, or ₹1,00,000 a month gross. All figures are gross pay before tax and deductions, so treat them as a starting point rather than your take-home salary.

Paid by the day? The daily wage calculator turns a daily rate and attendance — full days, half days and overtime at twice the rate — into the wages for a week or month, and the per day salary calculator goes the other way, from a monthly salary to one day’s pay.

How to use the Salary Calculator

  1. Type your pay and choose how often it is paid: per hour, day, week, two weeks, half month, month, quarter or year.
  2. Pick your currency.
  3. Set your hours per week and days per week, and the weeks you work each year (52 for a full year).
  4. Optionally enter paid holidays and leave days to see what you earn per day and per hour actually worked.
  5. Read the equivalents table and press “Copy table” to paste it anywhere. For India, use the LPA ⇄ monthly box.

Salary conversion formulas

Hourly to annual: annual = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year. $25 an hour × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $52,000 a year.

Annual to monthly: divide by 12. Annual to bi-weekly: divide by 26. Semi-monthly: divide by 24. Weekly: divide by the weeks worked.

Annual to hourly: hourly = annual ÷ (hours per week × weeks per year). A £45,000 salary at 40 hours a week is 45,000 ÷ 2,080 = £21.63 an hour.

Per hour actually worked: paid holidays mean you are paid the same salary for fewer working hours. With 28 days of paid leave and bank holidays — the UK statutory minimum for a five-day week — the same £45,000 covers 232 working days or 1,856 hours, which is £24.25 per hour worked.

Quick reference: hourly wage to annual salary

Bi-weekly vs semi-monthly, and CTC vs in-hand pay

Bi-weekly pay arrives every two weeks — 26 paydays a year, so two months each year have three paydays. Semi-monthly pay arrives twice a month on fixed dates — 24 paydays — so each payment is slightly larger. Annual pay is the same.

In India, offers are quoted as CTC (cost to company), the total the employer spends on you. It usually includes basic pay, HRA and allowances, plus the employer’s PF contribution, gratuity provision, insurance and variable or performance pay. Your monthly in-hand salary is gross pay minus your own PF contribution (commonly 12% of basic), professional tax where it applies and income tax (TDS), so it is noticeably lower than CTC ÷ 12.

Elsewhere, take-home pay is similarly reduced by income tax, social security or National Insurance and pension contributions. Results here are gross estimates, not tax or financial advice. Salary Calculator FAQ

How do I convert an hourly wage to an annual salary?

Multiply the hourly rate by your hours per week and then by 52. At $18 an hour and 40 hours a week, that is 18 × 40 × 52 = $37,440 a year. Use fewer weeks if you take unpaid time off.

How do I calculate my monthly salary from my annual salary?

Divide the annual salary by 12. A $60,000 salary is $5,000 a month before tax. Don’t multiply weekly pay by 4 — a month averages about 4.33 weeks, so that undercounts.

What does 12 LPA mean per month?

12 LPA means ₹12 lakh per annum, or ₹12,00,000 a year. Divided by 12, that is ₹1,00,000 a month of gross CTC. Monthly in-hand pay will be lower after PF, professional tax and income tax.

How many working hours are in a year?

A full-time 40-hour week over 52 weeks is 2,080 hours. At 37.5 hours a week it is 1,950 hours, and at 45 hours it is 2,340. Subtract paid holidays to get hours actually worked.

Is this salary calculator showing take-home pay?

No. It shows gross pay, before income tax, social security, pension or PF deductions. Take-home pay depends on your country, tax regime and deductions.

What is the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly pay?

Bi-weekly means every two weeks (26 paychecks a year); semi-monthly means twice a month (24 paychecks a year). The annual total is the same, but each semi-monthly paycheck is larger.
