How to convert a PDF to EPUB

Clean pages

Tips for a better ebook
- Long PDF without clear headings? Choose “Every N pages” so chapters stay a comfortable length.
- Fix the details before converting: the title and author come from the PDF’s properties when they exist, but you can edit them here.

Will my EPUB look exactly like the PDF?
No — and that is the point. EPUB is reflowable, so text adapts to the screen. Headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, emphasis and images are kept, while page-specific layout such as columns, margins and exact fonts is not.
Why is my converted book empty or only pictures?
The PDF is probably a scan, which stores pictures of pages instead of text. Make it searchable with PDF OCR, then convert again for a reflowable EPUB.
How are chapters decided?
By default, chapters begin at the highest heading level that appears at least twice. You can instead split every N pages or keep everything in a single chapter.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Open it with its password, save an unprotected copy, and convert that.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is read by pdf.js in your browser and the EPUB is assembled on your device.
