Add a mirror reflection to any image
A soft reflection underneath a product, logo or album cover makes it look as if it is standing on a polished table or a calm lake. This free image reflection generator adds that mirror reflection effect in seconds: the bottom of your picture is flipped, placed below it and faded out smoothly, with full control over how tall the reflection is, how fast it fades, how strong it starts, the gap between image and reflection, an optional blur and an optional floor colour.
Everything outside the picture stays transparent in PNG and WebP files, so the reflected image can be placed on any slide, website or banner background. Process one picture or a whole product range at once — reflection height and fade scale with each image, while the gap and blur stay in exact pixels. Nothing is uploaded; the effect is drawn by your browser.
How to add a reflection to a photo
- Drop one or more images onto the upload area, click it to pick files, or paste an image with Ctrl+V.
- Set the Reflection height — how much of the picture is mirrored, as a percentage of its height.
- Adjust Start opacity and Fade length until the reflection melts away naturally; add a little Blur for a satin rather than mirror finish.
- Optionally add a Gap so the object seems to hover, and tick Fill the floor with a colour to paint the surface under it.
- Choose PNG, WebP or JPG and press Download; several images are saved as a ZIP.
Image Reflection features
True mirror image
The reflection is flipped vertically from the bottom edge up, exactly as a real reflective floor would show it.
Height and fade separately
Choose how much of the image is mirrored and, independently, how far down the reflection takes to fade to nothing.
Opacity and blur
Start the reflection anywhere from barely visible to full strength, and soften it for glossy, satin or wet-floor looks.
Gap and floor colour
Lift the object off the surface with a gap, and paint the floor any colour while the area above stays transparent.
Transparent output
PNG and WebP keep the fade semi-transparent, so the reflection blends into whatever background it is placed on.
Batch and private
Reflect a whole catalogue of product shots in one go and download a ZIP — no upload, no watermark.
How the reflection is built
The tool takes the bottom part of your image — the reflection height — and flips it upside down, so the bottom row of the picture sits right against the top row of the reflection, just like an object standing on glass. A vertical gradient then fades the reflection from the start opacity to fully transparent over the fade length. The canvas grows downwards by the gap plus the reflection height; the width never changes.
Worked example: a 1000 × 800 px image with a 40% reflection and a 10 px gap becomes 1000 × 1130 px — 800 px of picture, 10 px of gap and 320 px of reflection. With a fade length of 100% the reflection reaches zero opacity exactly at the bottom edge; at 50% it has faded out after 160 px and the rest of the strip stays empty or floor-coloured.
Settings that look realistic
Real reflections are always a little darker than the object, so values below 60% opacity usually look more natural than full strength.
| Look | Height | Start opacity | Fade length | Blur |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Polished glass or mirror | 40–60% | 40–60% | 100% | 0 px |
| Glossy product table | 30–40% | 25–40% | 70–100% | 1–2 px |
| Satin or wet floor | 25–35% | 20–30% | 60–80% | 3–6 px |
| Calm water | 80–100% | 35–50% | 100% | 2–4 px |
Tips
- Crop the bottom tightly. The reflection starts from the bottom edge of the image, so any empty space under the object appears as a gap. Trim it with Crop Image first, or set the gap to 0.
- Use a transparent PNG for products and logos. A cut-out object reflects without a rectangular background box.
- Want a plain upside-down copy instead? Rotate & Flip Image flips the whole picture without any fade.
- Combine effects: round the corners with Rounded Corners before adding the reflection, so the reflection gets matching corners.
Image Reflection FAQ
How do I add a reflection to an image?
Add the image, choose the reflection height, opacity and fade length, and press Download. The mirrored, fading copy appears under the picture and the file keeps a transparent background.
Can the background stay transparent?
Yes. Save as PNG or WebP and every area outside the picture and its reflection stays transparent, including the soft fade. JPG fills those areas with the background colour you pick.
What is the difference between reflection height and fade length?
Reflection height decides how much of the picture is mirrored and how much the canvas grows. Fade length decides how far down that reflection fades to zero; a shorter fade disappears sooner.
How do I make a wet-floor or glossy effect?
Use a modest height (about 30%), start opacity around 25%, a fade length of 60–80% and 3–6 px of blur. Fill the floor with a dark colour for a showroom look.
Can I add a reflection to many images at once?
Yes. Add all of them; the reflection height and fade follow each image’s own height, the gap and blur stay in pixels, and Download saves a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The reflection is drawn on a canvas in your browser and the files are saved directly to your device.
