Is Bitcoin mining profitable for your machine?
This Bitcoin mining calculator estimates what a miner earns and spends. Enter the machine’s hashrate and power draw, your electricity price, pool fee and the BTC price, and it works out the expected BTC per day, revenue, electricity cost and profit per day, month and year, the break-even electricity and BTC prices, hashprice, and how long the hardware takes to pay back.
The network difficulty can be typed from any block explorer, or filled with the Fetch current difficulty button, which asks the free mempool.space API once per click (no key, no account, nothing loaded automatically) and also fills the average transaction fees per block. The BTC price is always yours to type; no price service is used.
Results are estimates at a constant price and difficulty unless you add growth. They are not financial advice.
How to use the Bitcoin Mining Calculator
- Enter your hashrate (TH/s for ASICs) and the power draw in watts, or the efficiency in J/TH.
- Enter your electricity price per kWh, the currency and the pool fee.
- Type today’s BTC price, and the difficulty — or press Fetch to fill it and the average fees.
- Optionally set uptime, a monthly difficulty growth assumption and the hardware cost.
- Read the daily profit, break-even figures, payback and the 12-month table.
Bitcoin Mining Calculator features
Difficulty-based maths
Uses the protocol’s own definition of difficulty, not a guessed network hashrate.
Watts or J/TH
Switch between total watts and efficiency; the other figure is shown.
Break-even figures
The electricity price and the BTC price at which mining just covers power.
Difficulty growth
Model rising difficulty month by month for the projection and payback.
Button-only live data
Optional difficulty and fee fetch from a public API, with a clear message if offline.
The Bitcoin mining formula
On average a block needs difficulty × 232 hashes. A miner producing H hashes per second therefore earns H × 86,400 × (subsidy + fees) ÷ (difficulty × 232) BTC a day, before the pool fee. Revenue is that times the BTC price, and the electricity cost is watts × 24 ÷ 1,000 × price per kWh. The network hashrate implied by the difficulty is difficulty × 232 ÷ 600.
Worked example: a 200 TH/s machine using 3,500 W (17.5 J/TH) at difficulty 140 T with 3.125 BTC subsidy and 0.015 BTC average fees earns about 0.0000902 BTC a day, or 0.0000884 BTC after a 2% pool fee. At an example BTC price of $100,000 that is $8.84 a day; 84 kWh at $0.08 costs $6.72, leaving $2.12. Break-even electricity is about $0.105 per kWh.
Figures as of October 2026
The block subsidy has been 3.125 BTC since the April 2024 halving and halves again at block 1,050,000, expected in 2028. On 24 October 2026 the mempool.space API reported difficulty of about 140.6 T, a network hashrate of roughly 1,078 EH/s (3-day average) and average fees of about 0.014 BTC per block over the previous 144 blocks. These change constantly: re-check before relying on them.
What the estimate leaves out
- Price and difficulty. Both move daily; difficulty has tended to rise over time, cutting each machine’s share.
- Halvings. The subsidy halves about every four years.
- Other costs. Cooling, hosting, repairs, import duty, internet and taxes.
- Pool payout schemes. FPPS, PPS+ and PPLNS treat fees and luck differently.
- India. Mined coins may be taxable when sold under the virtual digital asset rules; see the crypto profit calculator.

Bitcoin Mining Calculator FAQ
How is Bitcoin mining profit calculated?
BTC per day = hashrate × 86,400 × block reward ÷ (difficulty × 2^32), less the pool fee; multiply by the BTC price and subtract electricity (kW × 24 × price per kWh).
How much does 1 TH/s earn per day?
That is the hashprice. At difficulty 140 T, 3.14 BTC per block and $100,000 a coin, about $0.045 per TH/s per day before the pool fee and power. The calculator shows it for your figures.
Is Bitcoin mining profitable in India?
Enter your tariff in rupees per kWh and choose ₹. Many home tariffs make ASIC mining unprofitable; the break-even electricity price tells you the limit.
Where does the difficulty come from?
You type it, or press Fetch to get it from the public mempool.space API. Nothing is fetched without a click.
Why does my pool show different earnings?
Pools use different payout schemes, fee treatment and luck, and difficulty changes every 2,016 blocks.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is an estimate from the numbers you enter.
