Share, back up and print

Importing adds entries that are not already in your log — nothing is overwritten, so both parents can swap files back and forth.

Printing sends only the sheet to the printer at 100% scale. The PDF is vector (sharp at any size); the PNG shows the first page. Everything is drawn in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Contact your midwife, health visitor or doctor if your baby:

  • has fewer wet or dirty nappies than expected — from day 5 at least 6 heavy wet nappies, and from day 4 at least 2 soft yellow poos a day in the first weeks (NHS)
  • is feeding much less than usual, is too sleepy to feed, or is not gaining weight
  • seems unwell to you — trust your instincts

General information for parents, not medical advice — ask your paediatrician / midwife, and seek urgent care for warning signs. A log helps you remember and spot patterns; it is not a medical record and cannot tell you whether your baby is well.

A free baby tracker that keeps your data on your phone

In the newborn weeks everyone asks the same questions: when did the baby last feed, which side, how many wet nappies today, how long did they sleep? This baby tracker answers them with one-tap logging of breastfeeds (with a left/right timer), bottles of formula or expressed milk, wet and dirty nappies, sleep and pumping. It shows today’s totals, a 24-hour timeline, the last seven days, and a printable summary to take to a check-up.

There is no app to install and no account. Everything is saved in this browser on your device. To share the log with a partner or grandparent, tap Export file to share, send the file, and they tap Import a shared file on their phone — entries are merged, never overwritten. It is information only, not medical advice.

How to use the Baby Tracker

  1. Choose what to log: Breast, Bottle, Nappy, Sleep or Pump.
  2. Leave Time empty to log it now, or pick an earlier time to catch up.
  3. Breastfeeding: tap Left or Right to start the timer, the other side to switch, then End and save feed. Nappies are one tap: Wet, Dirty or Wet + dirty.
  4. Sleep: tap Fell asleep, then Woke up — or add a sleep you forgot.
  5. Check the totals, the timeline and the 7-day table. Export a file to share, download a CSV, or print the summary.

What is normal in the first weeks?

Every baby is different, but as a rough guide the NHS says babies feed at least 8 to 12 times, or more, every 24 hours in the first few weeks. From about day 5 you would expect at least 6 heavy wet nappies a day, and from day 4 at least 2 soft yellow poos a day for the first few weeks. A log makes it easy to answer when your midwife, health visitor or doctor asks — but follow your baby’s cues rather than the clock, and ask for help early if you are worried. The newborn diaper chart shows typical nappy counts day by day, and the newborn weight loss calculator works out the percentage lost since birth.

Sharing the log between parents

  • Tap Export file to share. A small .json file is downloaded.
  • Send it to your partner by message or email, or save it to shared storage.
  • On their phone, open this page and tap Import a shared file. Entries they do not have are added; nothing is deleted or duplicated.
  • Repeat in either direction whenever you like. Because there is no server, the log is never visible to anyone you do not send it to.

Privacy and backups

The log lives in your browser’s local storage on this device. Clearing site data, using a private window or changing phone removes it, so export a file now and then as a backup. Related tools: the breastfeeding timer for feeds only, the baby feeding chart for bottle amounts by age, the breast milk calculator for storing expressed milk, and the diaper calculator for how many nappies to buy.

Baby Tracker FAQ

Is this baby tracker free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no subscription and no advert-based data collection — it runs in your browser and saves the log on your device.

Can I share the baby tracker with my partner?

Yes, without an account: export the log as a file and import it on the other phone. Importing only adds entries that are missing, so you can swap files back and forth.

How do I track wet and dirty diapers?

Choose Nappy and tap Wet, Dirty or Wet + dirty. The day’s totals show wet and dirty nappies separately; a nappy that is both counts in each.

Can I log a feed I forgot?

Yes. Set the Time field to when it happened, then save; for breastfeeds enter the minutes on each side under “add a past feed”.

Can I print the log for the doctor?

Yes. Choose the paper size and press Print summary, or download the PDF. It shows the last seven days and the selected day’s entries.

What happens to my data?

It stays in this browser. Nothing is uploaded; deleting site data or tapping Clear all removes it, so keep an exported copy if it matters to you.
