Find wedding dates and vivah muhurat for your city
This wedding date finder lists auspicious Hindu wedding dates — vivah muhurat — for any month or the whole of 2026, 2027 and the following years, with the time window for each date in your city. A second mode suggests wedding date ideas for any tradition: Saturdays (or any weekday) by season, long weekends around US federal holidays or UK bank holidays, and memorable number-pattern dates such as 6.6.26.
The muhurat list comes from the same rule engine as the muhurat finder, which computes tithi, nakshatra, yoga and the lunar month from the Sun and Moon. It is cultural information for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice; traditions and regions differ, so confirm any date with your family priest.
How to use the Wedding Date & Muhurat Finder
- Choose Hindu vivah muhurat or Wedding date ideas.
- Pick the year, a month or “All year”, and which days you want — any day, weekends, Fridays to Sundays, Saturdays or Sundays.

- Scan the month bars and the list; press Plan on a date to see the countdown and when to send save-the-dates and invitations.

Wedding Date & Muhurat Finder features
Muhurat with times
Each date shows its window, for example 7:04 am – 3:27 am (+1), with the nakshatra, tithi and lunar month.
Weekend muhurat
Ask for Saturdays and Sundays only; the weekday rule is relaxed and the page says so, while every other rule still applies.
Why a month is empty
Month bars name the reason a month has no date: Chaturmas, Kharmas, adhik masa, or Venus or Jupiter combust.
Date ideas for any tradition
Weekday, season (both hemispheres), long weekends, public holidays and number patterns, with no astrology involved.
Plan from the date
Countdown in days and weeks, save-the-date and invitation windows, and a link that pre-fills the save the date maker.
How the vivah muhurat dates are found
Every Hindu day from sunrise to the next sunrise is cut at each change of tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana, and the pieces that pass every rule are joined into windows of at least five minutes. The classic preset allows the nakshatras Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati; the tithis 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 13 of either fortnight; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and cuts out Rahu Kaal, Bhadra and the Vyatipata and Vaidhriti yogas. The broad rules allow any weekday and every tithi except Amavasya and keep Rahu Kaal — closer to the long lists printed in many panchangs.
Both skip Chaturmas (Devshayani to Devuthani Ekadashi), Kharmas (Sun in sidereal Sagittarius or Pisces), adhik masa and days when Jupiter or Venus is combust. For New Delhi in 2026, for example, the engine finds no dates in January (Venus combust) or from August to October (Chaturmas) — the same empty months as a widely used online panchang’s 2026 list, and its self-test matches seven of that list’s windows to within three minutes. Lagna, the couple’s horoscopes (see kundli matching) and local customs are not checked.
Choosing a wedding date without astrology
- Season: autumn, especially September and October Saturdays, has been the busiest wedding season in recent US surveys (The Knot Real Weddings Study), so venues book early; seasons here are meteorological (spring is March to May in the north).
- Weekday: Saturdays are the most asked-for; many venues price Fridays, Sundays and off-season dates lower — ask yours.
- Long weekends: a Sunday wedding before a Monday holiday gives guests a day to travel home, but flights and rooms cost more. Holidays follow 5 U.S.C. 6103 as listed by the US Office of Personnel Management, and the England and Wales bank holidays as normally set (checked against GOV.UK, October 2026); one-off extra holidays are not included.
- Pattern dates: dates like 6.6.26 or palindromes like 6.2.26 are easy to remember for anniversaries — nothing more is claimed for them.
Wedding Date & Muhurat Finder FAQ
What are the auspicious wedding dates in 2026?
Choose Hindu vivah muhurat, year 2026 and All year, and pick your city. The list shows every date that passes the rules with its time window; the month bars show which months have none and why.
Are there wedding dates in 2027?
Yes — pick 2027 (or a later year) in the Year box. The same rules are computed for any year, so dates appear long before printed calendars are published.
Is there a muhurat for marriage on a Saturday or Sunday?
Choose “Saturdays and Sundays” under Days. The classic preset normally avoids weekends, so the page relaxes only the weekday rule and keeps every other check.
Why are there no Hindu wedding dates in some months?
Weddings are traditionally avoided during Chaturmas, Kharmas and adhik masa, and while Venus or Jupiter is combust (asta). The month bar names the reason.
How does this wedding date calculator plan the rest?
Press Plan on any date, or type one: it counts the days and weeks to go and gives the usual windows for save-the-dates (4–6 months ahead, 8–12 for a destination wedding) and invitations (6–8 weeks ahead).
Is the muhurat from this page guaranteed?
No. It is a rule-based shortlist for tradition and entertainment, not prediction or advice; families usually confirm the final muhurat with a priest.
