A math practice game for fast, accurate number facts
This math practice game builds quick, reliable recall of number facts — the 7 × 8s and 63 ÷ 9s that make everything else in maths easier. Choose addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or a mixed drill, set the difficulty, and race the clock in a 30-second sprint, a 60-second or 2-minute drill, or a fixed set of 20 or 50 questions.
Correct answers move on by themselves, so the only thing between you and a high score is recall speed. Streaks count up as you go, every slip is collected in a mistake review, and a single click turns those missed facts into a new drill or a printable worksheet — as a print-out, a vector PDF on A4 or US Letter, or a PNG.
For younger learners, kid mode switches to big keypad buttons, cheerful messages and bursts of stars, and the times-table focus lets a child work on just the 6s or the 7s and 8s. Everything runs in your browser, with no account, and progress stays on your device.
How to use the Math Practice Game
- Pick an operation — + Add, − Subtract, × Multiply, ÷ Divide or Mixed — and a difficulty. Custom range lets you choose the numbers yourself.
- For times tables, tick one or more tables under Times-table focus; multiplication and division questions will then always use them.
- Choose a drill length and press Start drill. Type answers on your keyboard or tap the on-screen keypad; a correct answer moves on instantly, Enter or Check submits a wrong one.
- At the end, read your score, accuracy, time per answer and best streak, then look at the Mistake review.
- Press Practise missed facts for a drill of only those facts, or print a worksheet of them — with an optional answer key page.
Math Practice Game features
Four operations and mixed drills
Subtraction never goes negative and division always comes out whole, so every question has a single clean answer.
Times-table focus
Tick any of the 2–12 tables to drill exactly the facts you need, in both multiplication and division.
Streaks and records
Your current streak and best streak are shown live; every fifth answer in a row gets a special cheer, and your best streak ever is saved.
Mistake review that learns
Missed facts are counted and listed most-missed first. Each later correct answer counts a fact down until it leaves the list.
Printable worksheet
Missed facts — or practice facts when there are none — are laid out with numbered blanks, a name/date/score line and an optional answer key, as print, PDF or PNG.
Kid mode
Huge keypad buttons, the on-screen keypad instead of the phone keyboard, friendly messages and star bursts (turned off when reduced motion is requested).
Difficulty levels at a glance
Times-table focus overrides the factor range for × and ÷: one factor (or the divisor) comes from your ticked tables and the other runs from 0 to 12.
| Level | + and − | × and ÷ |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | numbers 0–10 | tables 0–10 (e.g. 6 × 7, 42 ÷ 6) |
| Medium | numbers 0–100 | tables 2–12 × 0–12 |
| Hard | numbers 10–999 | up to 20 × 20 and 400 ÷ 20 |
| Custom | your from–to range | your range for both factors |
Why short timed drills work
Recalling a fact from memory is faster and less tiring than working it out, and fluent recall frees attention for the harder steps of a problem such as long division or fractions. Short, frequent practice — a minute or two a day — with immediate feedback is the classic way to get there, and focusing on the facts you miss rather than the ones you already know makes each minute count.
Speed should follow accuracy. If accuracy drops below about 90%, slow down or switch to a question-count drill until the facts feel easy, then go back to the clock. For extra support, the multiplication table generator prints full tables to learn from, the long division calculator shows working step by step, and the flashcard maker turns tricky facts into cards.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Start in kid mode with one table ticked and a 20-question drill; move to the clock once accuracy is high.
- Print the missed-facts worksheet with two copies of each fact for homework, and keep the answer key page for marking.
- Use “Practise missed facts” at the start of the next session — it clears facts as they are answered correctly.
- Celebrate streaks and improvements in accuracy, not just raw speed.
Math Practice Game FAQ
Is this math practice game free?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and works in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
How do I practise just one times table?
Choose × Multiply (or ÷ Divide), then tick that table under Times-table focus. Every question will use it, for example 7 × 0 to 7 × 12.
How is the worksheet made?
It lists your missed facts, most-missed first, repeated as many times as you choose and shuffled, with a blank to write each answer. Print it, or download a vector PDF in A4 or US Letter, or a PNG.
Why did a wrong answer not move me on?
Correct answers move on automatically. A wrong answer is only marked when you press Enter, Check or the ✓ key, so you can fix a typo first.
Is this math game suitable for young children?
Yes. Easy level uses numbers up to 10, kid mode makes buttons large and adds cheers and stars, and there are no adverts or links inside the game area.
Where is my progress stored?
Missed facts, your best streak and the sound setting are saved in your browser’s local storage only. Clear missed facts empties the review list.
