A simple online alarm clock with snooze and repeat days
The Alarm Clock turns any browser tab into a bedside or desk alarm. Set as many alarms as you need, give each a label such as “Stand-up meeting” or “Take medicine”, choose the days it repeats, and pick one of four sounds. When an alarm goes off you can stop it or snooze for 5 or 10 minutes.
It is handy when you are working at a computer, studying, napping near your laptop or using a tablet as a clock. Alarms are saved in your browser, so they are still there next time you open the page, and nothing is sent to a server.
How to use the Alarm Clock
- Pick the Alarm time and, if you like, type a Label.
- Choose the Repeat on days. Weekdays are selected by default; turn every day off for a one-time alarm.
- Choose a Sound and set the Volume. Press Test sound to hear it.
- Press Add alarm. The list shows when each alarm will ring next, and the switch turns it on or off.
- When it rings, press Stop or Snooze 5 min / Snooze 10 min. Use Test alarm now to try the whole thing first.
Alarm Clock features
Multiple alarms
Add as many alarms as you like, each with its own time, label, repeat days and sound.
Four generated sounds
Classic beep, chime, digital and a gentle rise that starts softly and grows louder — all created live with Web Audio, no downloads.
Snooze 5 or 10 minutes
Snoozed alarms appear in the list with their new time and can be cancelled.
Remembers your alarms
Alarms and settings are stored on this device and survive reloads and restarts.
Keep screen awake
On supported browsers the Screen Wake Lock option stops the display from sleeping while the tab is open.
Notifications and a live clock
Optional desktop notifications, plus a large clock with seconds in 12- or 24-hour format.
What a browser alarm can and cannot do
A web page can only make sound while it is open. Closing the tab or the browser, shutting the laptop lid, or letting a phone lock its screen can pause the page, and the alarm will not ring until it wakes up again. If the page notices that an alarm time passed while it was asleep, it tells you the alarm was missed rather than ringing late.
Browsers also block sound until you have clicked or tapped on a page at least once, which is why the alarm clock asks you to tap if the page was just opened. Once you have interacted with it, alarms ring even if you switch to another tab.
For the best reliability, keep the device plugged in, leave this tab open, turn on Keep screen awake, and switch off battery saver. For a wake-up that really matters — an early flight or an exam — set your phone’s built-in alarm as well.
Choosing an alarm sound
If an alarm is left ringing, it stops by itself after 10 minutes so an unattended tab does not ring all day.
| Sound | What it sounds like | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Classic beep | Four sharp beeps, repeating | Heavy sleepers, noisy rooms |
| Chime | A bright four-note bell arpeggio | Everyday reminders at a desk |
| Digital | Rapid two-tone pulses like a digital watch | Short naps, clear attention-getter |
| Gentle rise | Soft arpeggio that gets louder over a minute | Waking up calmly |
Tips for better sleep and wake-ups
- Sleep runs in cycles of roughly 90 minutes. The Sleep Calculator suggests wake-up times that land at the end of a cycle, when waking feels easier.
- Use labels for reminders during the day — medicine, calls, breaks — and the repeat days for routines.
- For a fixed length of time, such as a 20-minute nap, the Countdown Timer is quicker to set.
- Calling someone abroad? Check their local time first with the World Clock.
Alarm Clock FAQ
Will the online alarm clock ring if I close the tab?
No. A browser alarm needs the page to be open. It can be in a background tab, but closing it — or letting the device sleep — stops the alarm until the page is open and awake again.
Why didn’t my alarm make a sound?
Check that the device volume is up, the tab isn’t muted, and that you clicked or tapped the page at least once after opening it. Use “Test alarm now” to confirm sound works.
Can I set more than one alarm?
Yes. Add as many as you like. Each can have its own label, sound and repeat days, and can be switched off without deleting it.
How does snooze work?
When an alarm rings, choose Snooze 5 min or Snooze 10 min. The alarm stops and rings again after that time. Snoozed alarms appear in the list and can be cancelled.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, while the page is open and the screen is on. Phones aggressively pause web pages when locked, so turn on “Keep screen awake”, keep the phone charging, and use the built-in clock app for critical alarms.
Are my alarms private?
Yes. Alarms are stored only in your browser’s local storage on this device and are never uploaded.
