ACFT calculator for the new Army Fitness Test (AFT)
On 1 June 2025 the Army Fitness Test (AFT) replaced the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) as the Army’s physical fitness test of record. People still search for an ACFT calculator, so this one scores the current test: enter your age, sex, standard and results for the five events — 3-repetition maximum deadlift, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank and two-mile run — and see each event’s points, your total out of 500 and whether you pass.
Points come straight from the Army’s published AFT score tables (effective 1 June 2025). Choose General for combat-enabling specialties, which use sex- and age-normed scoring, or Combat MOS for the sex-neutral, age-normed standard. Soldiers on a profile can score the 2.5-mile walk, 12 km bike, 1 km swim or 5 km row as a Go/No-Go instead of the run.
How to use the ACFT Calculator
- Choose the standard — General (combat-enabling) or Combat MOS — and your sex and age.
- Enter the deadlift weight in pounds and the number of correct hand-release push-ups in two minutes.
- Enter sprint-drag-carry, plank and run times as minutes:seconds (for example 1:55, 2:30, 15:30). “15.30” or seconds also work.
- If you are doing an alternate aerobic event, select it and enter your time.
- Read your points, the 60- and 100-point marks for your age group, your total and the pass or fail reasons.
ACFT Calculator features
Official tables
All five events, ten age groups and both sex columns from the AFT score tables, applied as published.
General and combat standards
300 total for combat-enabling specialties; 350 total, sex-neutral, for the 21 combat specialties — with at least 60 points in every event.
Targets for your group
The result needed for 60 and for 100 points in each event, so you know what to train for.
Alternate events
Go/No-Go times for the walk, bike, swim and row from the same tables.
Clear verdict
PASS, FAIL or INCOMPLETE with the exact reason — an event under 60 or a total short of the standard.
How AFT scoring works
Each event is scored from 0 to 100 points using the table for your age group. For the deadlift, push-ups and plank you score the highest row your result reaches; for the sprint-drag-carry and two-mile run, the highest row whose time you beat or match. Where the table skips a points level, you land on the next row below. The five scores add up to a total out of 500.
To pass, every event must score at least 60. Soldiers in combat-enabling specialties need a total of at least 300 on sex- and age-normed scores. Soldiers holding one of the 21 combat specialties need at least 350, scored on the single sex-neutral column (the “M|C” column in the tables). The Army set those combat standards to apply from 1 January 2026 for the active component and 1 June 2026 for the Reserve and National Guard.
AFT vs ACFT: what changed
- Five events instead of six: the standing power throw was dropped.
- A sex-neutral, age-normed standard for combat specialties, with a higher total (350).
- New score tables — for example, for men aged 22–26 the 60-point two-mile run is 19:45, and the 100-point deadlift is 350 lb.
- The leg tuck had already been replaced by the plank in 2022; the plank stays.
- Old ACFT scores (tables valid until 31 May 2025) are not calculated here.
Training tips for each event
- Deadlift: practise the hex-bar movement and use the one-rep max calculator to set training weights.
- Push-ups and plank: train both several times a week; the plank rewards steady breathing and full-body tension.
- Sprint-drag-carry: rehearse the five 50 m lanes and the turns — technique saves seconds.
- Two-mile run: plan splits with the pace calculator and build easy mileage with intervals in the right heart-rate zones.
ACFT Calculator FAQ
Is the ACFT still used?
No. The Army Fitness Test (AFT) became the test of record on 1 June 2025, with five events and new score tables. This ACFT calculator scores the AFT.
What score do I need to pass the AFT?
At least 60 points in every event, plus a total of 300 for combat-enabling specialties or 350 for combat specialties.
Is the AFT scored differently for men and women?
For combat-enabling specialties, yes — scores are sex- and age-normed. For combat specialties the standard is sex-neutral: everyone is scored on the same column for their age group.
How do I enter run and plank times?
As minutes and seconds, such as 15:30 or 2:30. You can also type 15.30 or the total seconds.
Is this an official Army calculator?
No. It is an independent training tool using the published Army score tables. Your official score is the one your graders record.
